Also one other of my friends will be there in the artist alley to and that Neon Dragon from http://www.neondragonart.com for those of you were there last year she was the girl selling all the t-shirts^^ and alot of art work that is mounted and wraped!

I'm going! How can I not, I live in Columbus! Not going to a con in your hometown is like sac-relig! Especially when it's a big(ish) one like Ohayocon. Not sure what costumes I'll have with me, depends on what I get sone. I know Shippo and Sesshoumaru will be done so most likely I'll bring them. If a decent amount of Harry Potter Cosplayers will be there I'll bring Hermione as well. Other than that I might be casual Miyazawa from Kare Kano and I might also bring Aisha if I redo the chest armor and can find some other Outlaw star cosplayers to do a photoshoot with. Oh yeah, and Tohru too if I get a wig for it. I also am being Ed for a Bebop photoshoot...wow, that's too many costumes. I'm not bringing more than 5 though so some of those will be saved for another con. Haven't reserved a room yet...I should probably do that so I don't have to go to the overflow hotel and freeze my butt off walking across that covered crosswalk....that sucked!

Dude, I'm definitly going! Like Animeisha said, how can I not since I live in Columbus? And it's not even 10 minutes from my school, so it's even better ^^;

I'll be bringing my Himawari Kunogi from xxxHOLiC for the CLAMP/HOLiC/Tsubasa gathering/photoshoot thingy that I'm heading up....I hope I can get the wig done though (actually, I'm aiming for getting the wig done by Sugoi). It's like....crazy @___@ And I don't have a clue how I'm gonna do it. Maybe I'll ask Loki-sama for help...

And I'm also making Jibrille from Angel Sanctuary (the picture in my sig) for Sugoi and Ohayo, both of which we will have an Angel Sanctuary group gathering/photoshoot (that I am heading up also). We have about 12 people so far, so its actually turning into a nice sized group. For a while there no one seemed interested and I thought it was gonna totally flop...but now, we actually have some big name cosplayers participating in it, so this is like...a dream come true for me!

And I'm excited that this will be the first Ohayocon in which I'm allowed to skip school Friday <3 So I'll be there all three days. And we're getting two connected rooms and having a bunch of people stay with us, so it'll be one hyper, exciting weekend ^___^

I'll be going, I went last time and I didn't even live in OH yet. Now that I'm in Cincinnati, it'll be that much easier for me to get there, and I'm sure some of my friends from back in Chicago will come in for it too. Costume-wise, I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish my new Faye costume, the gown from My Funny Valentine, and possibly Black Mage Paine, since I was planning to do her for Halloween and already have all the materials. I would love to do a Lulu costume, but whether I can afford it and complete it to my specifications by then is iffy. Otherwise, I'll probably bring some of my more recent costumes (a couple of which don't even exist yet but will for upcoming cons before then).

Thats cool! Maybe I'll look you both up^^. I use to leave down in Middletown thats between Cincinnati and Dayton. ArsenalFierce13 I'll be at Sugoi-con, you may find me in the artist alley at the table called "CCAD's Artist" with 2 of my friends^^ I'll be either going as Kikyo from Inuyasha or Tira Misa from the manga verison of Sorcerer Hunters or both at Sugoi-con.

I MAY be going to Ohayocon, if my mom cant take me I'd need to find a ride and a room (Same with Sugoi at this point if mom changes her mind) But anyway if I do go im planning on wearing my Rinoa costume that im wearing to Sugoi again here. My friend Tiff said I should do Selphie so I may do her. I think I may also cosplay Meryl from Trigun and possibly do a dark Rikku, FFX-2, since the theme is horror but I have to plan it out first o-o; I also think I might try Gunner Rikku too but that is if I go. I hope to see you there!

Well I have a group from Cleveland going and a group from Mt.Vernon (well...actually outside in the college town, but whatever. The Cleveland group I'm going with will have a Galaxy Angels group (I'm Milfeulle) and a Psychicer FFX-2 group (I'm paine) among others. My school friends and I are going as the mermaids from Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. It's going to be a liot of fun! I love Ohayocon!

Well, there's gonna be a nice Cowboy Bebop group meeting up, I guess on Saturday. I'm gonna be there all 3 days myself. (^^) We're thinking of adding some last minute costumes (since winter break starts soon) but we aren't sure what! Something cute and coupley...

Yup, I'll be going as well. As Princess Serenity, Manga Sailor Moon, and not sure what the 3rd one's going to be yet, probably Anime Super Sailor Moon, not sure on that one though. If any Sailor Moon cosplayers wanna meet up there that would be awsome. ^.^ See ya'll there.

Ok, I'm still going, but I've revised my costume list. I'm still going to have my new Faye outfit, and I'm fixing up my I-no costume from Reactor. There will be no Final Fantasy costumes in my lineup, though. Heck, at the rate I'm procrastinating, I'll be lucky if I get these done, and I already know how much it sucks to run out of time (that's why I-no needs fixing in the first place). I'll probably bring another Faye costume for Fri. too, since I'm planning on new Faye for the Sat. Bebop group and I-no for lat Sat/the masquerade. And it'll probably be Casino Faye, since Opera Faye debuted at Ohayocon last year and I usually won't wear the same costume to the same cons, and I doubt I'll be in good enough shape to be comfortable in my yellow vinyl hotpants ^_^;

I live in the NW corner of Columbus, I'll probably be there on Sat. Not sure if I can afford an entire weekend. :) I have one question, how is Ohayocon when it comes to crossplayers? I know the convention center is a hop, skip, and a jump (across I-670) from the Short North area. If I can make it, this will be my first con.

Rameana

I don't understand the question.. I guess there about as many crossplayers as cosplayers. I'm a crossplayer.

Bahzi
12-08-2004, 07:46 PM
There's a good amount of crossplayers, I know all my friends that go crossplay, and almost half of the pictures I took last year were crossplayers and I'm pretty unbiased as far as taking pictures.

I'll be going to Ohayocon, but I don't live in Columbus, or the state of Ohio for that matter. I'll be showing up as Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed. My boyfriend is going to be Kira. We're wearing the Uniforms, but if I can get the dress done, he's gonna do the flight suit as well. I'm so new to all this. My first con was sugoicon in cinci. I loved it soooooooooo much. Kinda made some new friends. They all seem really cool. Hope to see some of you there. My fav part is the costumes!! So much work! But well worth it.

I have one question, how is Ohayocon when it comes to crossplayers?

Personally, I find Ohio area conventions a bit more accepting when it comes to crossplay. I'm dating a crossplayer, my ex crossplayed, and I have friends who crossplay. Although I find male to female crossplay harder to accept by some... female to male crossplay is common and isn't a huge deal with 95% of the people. Maybe 1-2% of those people are dumb enough to open their mouth about it when it comes to girls dressing as guys. Though guys tend to get a bit of backlash... but not much at other conventions I've been to. I usually hear commetns like "Look! It's man-____!" when they clearly made themselves look feminine... that gets a bit annoying.

At any rate, most people don't pay attention to such comments, laugh about it, and move on. =P

I'll be there as Inuyasha on Friday and at the dance on Saturday night (let's hear it for the Photoshoots! Whoo!) and I'll be the Forte in the Galaxy Angel group on Saturday. (I think I'm the only one out of that group that's not from Cleveland) and I'll be Hikari from Haibane Renmei on Sunday.
Ohayo was my first con and I was super intimidated by it but now that I have a few other cons under my belt and now that I actually *know* some people it should be a lot more fun!
The crossplay thing...hmm..well, I haven't really met with any backlash while wearing my Inuyasha costume but then again, he's the first guy character I've ever played so I don't know how much people get criticised for it....

Hey, sorry for being so quiet, just busy is all. At this point I have nothing new in the works, although I wish I could do something about it at this time, but in two weeks...

Anyway, I could bring my Kenshin and clean up my Faust (and perhaps make a new scalpel). I'd love to scrounge up parts for a Kaze, The Sorrow, or Revolver Ocelot in the next few days.

I do have the hair for a Jonathan from Galaxy Angel, although I'd have to wonder how quickly I could make a uniform. I'd hate to be like those Keiichi cosplayers who hang with the really good Belldandys. That is, another guy in street clothes.

Man, this is why I keep asking for local gatherings. Well, I guess I should push more on my part in the future. Sorry for being so quiet.

I got everything I need to do The Sorrow. That may be Saturday. My old scalpel gave out, so I'm going to make a new one.
