Nope, haven't seen a thread on this either and since I've got tons of white fabric left from my Kitty Nakajima 2002 costume, decided to go ahead and post here for the CardCaptor Sakura White Star Angel costume. Basically it's the season where she has her Star staff instead of the one by the Clow Key...and I have no idea where to start (as usual) ^__^;;

Anyone else making this costume that's clueless, not clueless, or have suggestions please come over here!!

Also attached a reference picture if anyone wants to suggest stuff from that.

lmao .. i know of one, if not Two other people who are planning on making this costume xD

first, i suggest a Pink Tule ( or however/whatever its spelled ) Tutu-like ( really short ) petticoat, then do a ( starched, so it'll stand up over the Tutu ) pink petticoat, only slightly gatherd, with the scalloped edge ( i know that starching will make it loose the flowy effect, but its so it wont drop completely off the edge of the tutu-petticoat ) then do another loosly gatherd petticoat in the white, and then do the over-dress :3 with poofy sleeves n_n

on the stocking thing, if you want that opaque white look, go with a light knit fabric, and attach it to the garter, you could probibly even sew the shoe onto that to, make it a shoe cover like thing

n_n just my ramblings, good luck, its a super adorable costume <3

Check any store where they sell dance wear, though it might be a bit pricey. Places that stock gear for ballet, tap, square dancing. They'll have tutu-like skirts as well as ginormous poofy petticoats, the kind you'd wear under a square dance skirt.

o0o oh yeah! lol I was planning to go to Capezio for the shoes...oh great...now how will I go there? lol uhh I think I'll go with the tutu since enourmous petticoats scare me.

It might be easier just to make the tutu like thing. Tulle is uber-cheap, and you can get it in a lot of different colours.

I've had this costume on my possibilites list for awhile. Seen it done a handful of times & definitely don't skimp on the amount of skirt fabric, as that seems to be the place where outfit either works or fails.

I got my pink petticoat off ebay. Just keep an eye on the squaredancing pettis there, as they usually are cheaper than stores and pink ones do show up occassionally.

Seriously for most Sakura dresses, square dancing crinoline/petticoat is the way to go. Some of them aren't as fluffy as others, for another Sakura outfit I wore 2 squaredancing crinolines.

If not in a rush, stalk ebay for them. I've been able to get really good ones for @ $20 or so. Checking out current auctions, the following ones look like possibilities.

A little too hot pink (and more expensive then should be), but it has the shape to look for in Sakura petticoats

These are not as full, but more the right color for star outfit

its more well known as the 3rd opening dress or the platina dress. a tip. make the skirt a full on circle. no peicing, just a full on circle it uses lots of fabric but it really helps with sakura's ruffley dresses. you could put inside the layers of the skirt. like cut 2 peices for each layer and sandwich them.
