I mostly finished my costume of the Mugen uniform for Haruka. However, the pants (and tie) looked horrible so I'm trying to find a fabric that is more like the one on the anime. No LUCK! *sniffle* Then I stumbled upon a site that showed some costume of Michiru with the skirt made of green fabric and they used blue ribbons to make the pattern look like the Mugen uniform! I think I'm going to do that, but .... how do I keep the ribbons on there? Do I sew it or glue it or what? It has to look like part of the fabric! (*smiles* keep in mind, I'm making Haruka's pants... not Michiru's skirt)

There is a product called Stich Witchery, which is a roll of iron-on glue you can use to "glue down" the ribbon along the side of the pants. Depending on what you made the pants out of though that might or might not work; Stich Wichery typically requires high heat in order for the glue to melt and your fabric might not be able to handle it. Even if you used Stich Witchery I would still tack the ribbon down every few inches or so with some hand sewing just to be safe.
