Hi - I am attending this con for the first time and would like to know what people think of the cosplay at Katsucon, both hall cosplay and masquerade :)
Thanks for your input! :cool:

Katsucon has, hands-down, one of the best stage cosplays I've ever participated in. The pre-registration before the con means that you don't have to worry about getting in a line and hoping you'll get in, and lets people plan their skits and reharse well in advance, producing some of the best skits I've ever seen. They ususally take a few entries at the con, to cover dropouts or if they don't get enough pre-regs, but these are also usually reserved for young fans. They have craftmanship judging before the show, and last year they had some really knowedgeable people doing craftmanship (I can't remember her name at the moment.) They took their time with every entry to really look at your costume and talk about how you made it.
Hall cosplay has been different the last 2 years, so I don't know what they'll do this year, probaly what they did last year since it seems to work. If you don't want to get up on stage, you can find the hall cosplay judge, and be judged mostly for craftmanship, but in a one-on-one setting. They announce the winners for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at closing ceremony.

Oohh that sounds so great! I'm really looking forward to seeing the Masquerade and cosplaying at Katsu ^^ Thank you very much for everyone's replies to my post :D
Any of you have a guess as to what time it will be? I'm figuring Sat. night....
Also, if it's run anything like Otakon, the lines will be crazy. What time do you all suggest for getting in line, etc. More importantly... where is it held? 0_o

I am not really into the skits and stuff... I never really tried for awards either... I'd like to try for an award though... I dunno.. I tried at the Ohayocon... but we had to wait around forever... so I just left. If this is more organized... maybe I'll try for an award.

Are we all watching the same masquerade?
I think it sucks for the most part....^^;
That's why I'll be spending my time in the game room~
Sorry for my negativity......but I really don't think it's all that and a bag of chips~
