My questions:
1.Is there anyway to get the toy Cascull&Jackal guns without paying $100? or any ideas on how to make them?
2.Any pictures of the sigil on Alucard's gloves? or any ideas where I could get the gloves?
3.What sort of coat is Arucards?

01-01-2003, 09:28 PM
this site has the sigil on it. eesh what kinda fan boy are ya anyways if ya dun know it ><;; lol. as for the rest of it balsa wood and paper mache work nicely.

01-01-2003, 10:05 PM
......I'm not much of a fanboy......and could you elavorate on the guns

01-01-2003, 10:08 PM
hmmn well balsa wood is a really light material and is carved pretty easy, you could work with it if you have that kinda patience and it's not to cheap if you mess up. Really quite simple and it's the same stuff you make boxcar racers out of. and i meant the fanboy comment as a joke :P that site is fanboy heaven lol *_*

for the gun here's a page w/ alot of details:

too bad you don't have a way to buy it ne?

OOoo but you know whats easy? Base it off a toy guy, just a little one, for the trigger and clip part, but put the Balsa wood for the barrell to make it long and so you could paint all that stuff on it

01-02-2003, 06:03 AM
hmmmmm..................Finally,do you happen to know the dimensions for the Cascull&Jackal? I know they're about 39.4 cm long and um,that's it!

01-02-2003, 03:38 PM
And also, where would one go to aquire the aforementioned Balsa wood?

01-02-2003, 04:59 PM
Hmmn as for the dimensions I have no clue off of the top of my head and i'm on my mom's slow computer today but I can probally look em up later. for the balsa wood most craft stores have it and If you have a home deopt kinda thing they should

01-02-2003, 06:46 PM
Home Depot,huh? well,I'll check there then.Thanks!

01-02-2003, 08:48 PM
yuppers np! have fun w/ it ^^

01-03-2003, 01:48 PM
ok ok

it would be a hell of a lot easier if you bought the special editon box set with the guns for $ 80, since there is an US seller on Ebay with about 9 of them...or you can use the pics of the guns and compare them to the size of the DVD box for dimension references.

01-03-2003, 03:20 PM
True, but You'll also notice the the s&h costs are another $50!

01-04-2003, 01:40 AM
lol good point then. be glad you caught that b4 they slapped thoes kinda charges on ya

01-04-2003, 09:35 AM
Indeed I am......it hurts though! I can probably pay $80 for the guns!

01-04-2003, 10:29 AM
yea, you should try to contact the seller or sumthin and see if you can get just them

01-04-2003, 03:48 PM
a guy (Xyque is his sn, I think.. I got his wig for him. ^^) who dud Arucard at AX last year had both guns. I think one was a real gun replica that he decorated (with the words) and the other was carved out of balsa wood.

you can get gun replicas at any gun store, I think. or just search for gun replicas online.

01-04-2003, 03:58 PM
hmmm......thanks! also, any ideas on his coat?

01-04-2003, 04:10 PM
well, I'd start with a pattern for a trench coat. it'll prolly need to be altered because his is empire cut (and most men's coats don't come like that), and the shoulder dusters.

01-04-2003, 04:19 PM
hm....interesting tip on the cuts.....thanks!

01-05-2003, 07:06 PM
I am doing Hellsing cosplay as well, and have the same problems as you do. Ehhh, I don't think they would sell Victoria Seras big a** gun on E-bay! lol....*sigh* I am in big trouble, since gun is so big that for some Cons, like Fanime, I probably won't be even allowed to bring it to the Hotel....oh, crap...

01-05-2003, 08:40 PM
I have something here that might help:
Try this! (http://www6.big.or.jp/%7Etoka/cos/hal/index3.html)

01-05-2003, 11:39 PM
Damn, damn, damn! This is so cool! If I could ONLY read it! lol

01-05-2003, 11:41 PM
Think of it less as a tutorial and more of a pictorial, and i think you'll be fine ^^!

01-06-2003, 12:36 PM
My friend makes prop weapons, actually. she's not officially set up to take orders yet, but if you're interested, PM me and I'll hook you up.

On the subject of Hellsing, I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction for Anderson... I think I would just need a white priest's shirt but I don't know where to start with the coat...

01-07-2003, 09:07 AM
Anderson.....um...the guy with the swords,right?

This is a terrible method,I know, but my way (was):
Use a robe!
Get a grey robe, add some purple trim to it,and (some) interfacing around the waist.Use wood and the handles off of any *old* kitchen sauce or frying pan,but good luck trying to find one!

01-14-2003, 08:24 AM
Yeah, he's the one. I've been looking around and found some colonial style coats that I think I can modify. Just wanted to see if anybody could point me in the right direction.

Should be able to work with the knives, just have to see hit up Sears or Homedepo or something ^_^.

01-14-2003, 09:06 AM
The guy from the Hellsing group at Ohayocon said he did his coat from a preist's coat pattern,if that helps!

01-14-2003, 11:16 AM
[anal fan mode]

actually, in the manga, there's a bunch of people with swords. and Integral has a sword. =P

01-14-2003, 03:21 PM
errrr.....i'm confused.....

01-15-2003, 03:26 PM
Any idea if he posts on here LoneWolf? Wouldn't mind finding out which pattern he used. If nothing else I'll just do the best I can with what I've got.

01-15-2003, 03:41 PM
errr....no,if you had been to ohayocon,or if you check out the ohayocon uploaded pix,you should find pics of him&the hellsing group!

01-16-2003, 08:37 AM
's cool, I found some pictures of him earlier... Least I think it's the one your talking about.

Yeah, I really liked the way the priest's coat pattern worked out. Since Andersons a priest, I guess that makes sense. ^_^' We used Butterick 6844.

Just a note to Anderson cosplayers ~ use a thick white fabric, or at least wear an undershirt. I've noticed a trend for them to have these see-through-ish white shirts, and.. it looks funny. ^^;

Thank you so much Ashley! Will definately be able to put that to use.

And yeah, I'll watch out for the shirt.

I wish you very good luck on painting the Hellsing simbol on those gloves :D (you gotta love Arucard!)

Hey, will you show us your costume when it's done? Pretty please? :p

02-10-2003, 01:16 PM
Sure thing, but first I've gotta get around to making it ;-). Probably sometime in the spring because of my class schedule.

Im just going to transfer the Image onto my alucard gloves since it seems the easyiest way to do it.
