hi ^_^ im planning to cosplay a game chara with armor... i was wondering what kind of material could be used? :)

-Plates of plastic scrap, cleverly cut of course
-Rubber Foam, cleverly painted
-Rubber Foam, covered with satin

Many cosplayers use advanced techniques such as molding plastic and vacuuform stuff for armors... but I don't know how to do 'em. ^^0

Well, not to blow my own horn here. (Well, actually, I guess I DO mean to blow my own horn here, ) but you might want to check out my thread on armor-making:

I'm also working on a new project as well -- some Lina Inverse shoulderpads-- using the same materials and process. Here's a piccie:

It's craft foam coated with polystyrene, The jewel I made using a plastic Christmas ornament. (Obviously, I still have to paint it, but this gives you a good idea of how I'm putting it together...)
