my friends will be holding an anime convention. i will be mcee-ing the masquerade. i was wondering what are some good tips at hosting? i feel like i might make it boring!.. hopefully not ^_^

Don't talk too much. Its a long show and people do get restless after sitting awhile. As long as you don't give a lot of comments, it should move along nicely. Also just have fun with it.

Remember that the audience is there to see the competitors, not you. That might sound harsh, but I've been to one too many masquerade where it was all about the MC.

Also, try to compliment and be positive about all cosplayers. Most cosplayers put their heart and soul into their costumes and acts. Even if you see someone in poorly-assembled cardboard with what you think is a terrible skit, try to find something good about it to compliment. The audience will appreciate this too, since many of them are wanna-be cosplayers. ^_^
