This is a "just because" subject! And I wanted to know what some of your favorite moments/memories of your past visits to the convention. n_n I would have to say that my favorite moments would be the Rave (i wuv to dance and shake da booty!) and then there was this guy who did Karaokee (im a terrible speller! s'cuse me! ) and well he picked the Poke'mon theme song and he didn't know the whole thing! It was so cute!! Well I think everyone knows the first verse so that came easy, but after that it all went downhill! But he did a good job!! Also the game room was tons a fun! So those are at the top of my list of favorite things! *hehe* now it's ur turn!

My favorite Otakon memory was in 2001 when the con had to be evacuated because the gas lines broke under the center. Fire hydrants were bursting open and tons of Otaku were ravaging the streets. My friends and i saw the Otakon staff talking to the police and we took a picture of it. We alwasy show it to people and tell them that it was how our Otakon ended that year. Haha. ^_^x

Otakon 2000 - I loved watching the verbal auction for the art. Unfortunally now with the new way things are done a lot LESS things go to verbal auction :(
Otakon 2001 - Winning the Anime Trivia Contest.
Otakon 2002 - Getting my Picture taken Hiroyuki Morioka (creator of Crest of the stars) in my Lafiel outfit. He Complimented it too *^^*

Overall hanging out with my friends is probably my favourite memories though

One of the most memorable was trying to get back to hotel dry while the fire hydrants were gushing water and I was in rose bride dress

One of my favorite moments was going around the dealers rooms and seeing all the stuff there. Then going around and talking to alot of people, not much of a memory but I liked it!

Without a doubt, my favorite Otakon memory came at Otakon 2002. The escalator in the new wing of the BCC was designated for press, Otakon Staff and Guests of Honor prior to the big events on the 4th floor (AMV contest, Masquerade, MAT 3K).

Anyway, my Staff and I flashed our badges and were cleared to ride what we dubbed the "Presscalator". One of our friends was stopped and told by an Otakon Staffer that he was prohibited from taking the escalator and that he must take the stairs which were about 20 ft. away.

Watching him being turned away angrily as we ascended was funny enough, but what made it even more hilarious was that he made it to the top of the staircase at the same time that we made it to the top of the Presscalator. He was cursing up a storm, sarcastically saying "Ooh, I'm not important enough to ride your precious escalator!"

We still chuckle to this day when we recall that.

Hhehahehae. . .oh man! i remember when the water mains broke!
My Brother was the crazy guy that stuck his head directly in front of the fire hydrant and he thought he lost his left eye.. . . then he stuck his crotch directly in front and got blasted 6 feet back. . . hehaeha. . . .. . .

I think it was at Otakon 2000 when my friends and I where walking through the halls there by the couches below the balconies when my one friend Ryan announced that he was thirsty. This was at about ten or so at night, btw... suddenly, in the empty hallway, he spied a lone, unopened can of soda on the floor. Casually, he walked forward, picked it up, opened it then drank it. All of a sudden, a mess of people jump up from being hidden in the upper balcony and start taking pictures and cheering, shouting, "Congradulations! You are officially the thirstiest man at the convention!" it was histerical! I tried to dethrone him by taking the soda away, but he was so much taller than me we got into a chase just as they started throwing quarters... I was very much amused. ^_^

For me, it would have to when I performed my english version of "Mask" (Sorcerer Hunters end theme) at Karaoke, on friday of Otakon 02. I was dressed as Carrot Glace.

How many people saw me do it? Speaking personally, I was completely surprised by the ovation I got afterwards.

After we registered and had to get our badges laminated, my friend dropped hers as soon as she got it back, yelling, "Holy shit that's hot!" Her mother, some nereby staff person and I were all laughing at her. And of course when I kept strangling her and she kept yelling "ZAPPY! POKEY! NOCASH! HELP ME! EVIL KITTY CAT TRYING TO KILL ME!!" Her mother saw me trying to kill her too and didn't care. She was probably hoping I really was trying to. And when she asked this guy dressed up as Gene and I added "and your phone number." And parapara. I had a bell around my neck and it was getting annoying cuz it kept choking me and ringing, so I thought that it wouldn't ring as much if I put it around my wrist. Veeerry smart. *rolls eyes*

Favorite memory??? Hum, frighting a family of tourists while we were out to lunch. That was priceless!!! The look on their faces when I walked and sat down at the table dressed as Yuna. XD The resteraunt was looking at me strangely since I was the only one in a very noticable costume unlike Wolfy who was with me who was dressed as Wolfwood. So, I felt special!

Also, The GIANT Final Fantasy cosplay shoot at Otakon! So many FF cosplayers o.o!!!!

Hehe! That's it for me ^^

2001, the year of the exploding Baltimore, was my first Otakon. I loved it! My favorite memory was waiting in line for Hikaru Midorikawa's autograph. It became an informal Fushigi Yuugi cosplay meet.

My favorite picture from that con is my friend Linda as Hotohori stabbing my boyfriend (as Tamahome) with her sword while I (as Suzaku no Miko) look on in horror.

Next, a Nyan-nyan came bouncing over to join the fun. It was so silly ^_^

Then, my group met the Chibi Project "scientist" while playing cosplay bingo, and I found him again the next year. That poor Chibi-moon...

Going to the food court is always fun. Adults stare, then look away, and repeat this. Kids just STARE. It's cute.

The hotel is always fun. Half of the people are there for Otakon, the other half for Orioles games. The best question was "Are you in a play or something?" (Yes- a Mysterious Play.)

There's so many!

This past year, we went out to dinner with my parents before the cosplay. I was dressed as Zelda, Brian (my hubby) was dressed as red tunic Link. This guy at the bar (obviously not all there) started talking to Brian. He was like "you're one fine looking guy. No I mean that." and it went on from there. Then he asked if Brian was in a cirucs. We were like "No...we're attending an anime convention." The guy said "Oh. So are you in a circus?" We just gave up. Luckily, he left soon after that @_@
Ah yes, eating in public while in costume. It's so much fun!

Always memorable when walking through the hotel and some people are asking why we're dressed up. Even more memorable when they're interested instead of thinking we're strange.

Hm...the most memorable experience....that would have to have been the time when my friend and I were talking to some Rose of Versailles cosplayers and a group of Spanish tourists came up and asked us what was going on...we blinked a couple of times and tried to explain the concept of "anime conventions" but they just stared at us in horror and slowly backed away....I dunno maybe we scared them?
