This is a slightly easy one. Perhaps you're over evaluating the situation?
Kanna's costume is a kimono over an underkimono, both white. Then it is simply embellished with more to make it a sort of untradition costume. You're going to want to make an Under kimono, most likely, as it seems easiest. THOUGH at the same time it will make it hotter. So what do you do first? Simple under kimono. Kimonos are not hard by any means to make- I am a thirteen year old seamstress-in-training and that was my first project! So you've got your under kimono. This under kimono is just a normal kimono, but it's sleeves are not the feminine sleeves on a regular female kimono, they are the male sleeves, or simply a tube. Then you need ANOTHER over kimono, you're going to make it nearly the same way as the first but you need to only attach the sleeves at the bottom, allowing the top to be open. Them you sew the bows on the sleeves and finish whatever else you need to. She also seems to have two bows on her chest on the over kimono. I can not see how she closes it- judging on the picture someone linked I'd say a white broad obi? Good luck!
