When at the con we saw this guy and girl in what looked to be an accurate reproduction of a Nazi SS style uniform. In my opinion, i dont care if it is a character or not, is distasteful by itself. I know there is the whole indiana jones thing but the convention was practically right in the public eye. But my opinion is not the concept of this thread.

My question is what is the reasoning behind this kind of costume?

I saw them at one point too, it didn't bother me cause I thought maybe it was something from Indiana Jones though I wouldn't go that far on cosplaying because somethings should just be kept away from.

But what did worry me was that they were heading to the Food Court and well thats a public area. I've mentioned about how if people are going to go a little far on the costumes with something like that in another fourm needs to not be surprised by negative responses they get while in public or even in a con hotel.

are you sure it was nazi? they may have been trinity blood cosplayers. some of the outfits the rozen kreuz characters look very nazi-like.

and, in finished form here:

maybe that's what it was...i never saw them, though. what night were they out?

Nope it wasn't those. I did see the Nazi symbol and everything.

I know the group. Yes, they were cosplaying as Nazi's. They just like military uniforms, and they like riling people up. Depending on their mood they swap out the Swastika armbands with Frowning faces :( armbands

They showed up at AWA as WW2 Russian soldiers before, but were a bit dissappointed that no one made a fuss.

As for the appeal of Nazi uniforms...I overheard this from a women when they debuted at Megacon 2005 "I hate F*CK'n Nazi's, but Hugo Boss knew how to dress a man."

*shudge* Their not believers in nazi's or anything like that.

No disrespect to Nachtinis for posting a curious question regarding a costume he saw at D-con (which I missed thankfully) but earlier today a similar thread was closed regarding a similar topic:

http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=67535

Since this is always a touchy-subject regarding these kinds of costumes, we usually close threads when it comes to Nazi costumes, so if I don't do it then another mod will eventually do it. Again, sorry..
