I don't care who plays at AX. I don't know many except for the extremly possible ones by name. I just like practically any J-pop/J-rock that falls into my hands (except for a select few annoying songs..) *blinks* ... I need to get out more...

Anyway, this is totally cool. If you guys got them to listen to this petition, get the group and adjust the schedules then good for you guys. However, I think it's a bit late. Most of the time they have the group picked out waaaaaay in advance.

Well, coolness anyway..

lol.. do you know how hard it is to get ahold of a band's management, much less get them to play at a convention?

there's already Jrock Events at AX and people on staff who are representing jrock fans and trying to get stuff going - people who've been there for YEARS. petitions do nothing. there's no one on the AX staff with a magic wand that'll make a band appear. it takes connections and a band willing, not a bunch of people begging.

Heh, It would be a miracle if any J-rock bands do make it there... I would LOVE to see them... T_T

You never know. It's possible to get artists in. They've had plenty of people play

Speaking as the J-rock Events Coordinator of Anime Expo ~ please be aware that J-rock is relatively a "new" thing for AX and we just need to take it one step at a time. Miracles rarely happen over night.
I am SO PROUD however (as all of you should be!) that last year's J-rock Events BLEW EVERYONE AWAY with its popularity and attendance. Man oh man were we a fire hazard!
Let's TRIPLE that this year and make sure that j-rock is here to stay.

(btw - bands do come to the L.A. area to perform. I saw Chisato's solo band back in 2000. Chisato = from Penicillin)

MDM and Diru would never play at an anime con -_-; Diru maybe, seeing as most of them enjoy anime, but they're not prone to go overseas anymore..
