What do you think of the game and graphics??? what do you think of the thought of cosplaying one of the characters there???

02-06-2003, 05:13 AM
What do I think of the game?
"Easy to learn, (VERY) hard to master", as GameInformer said.

...and graphics?
2-D Eyecandy.

What do you think of the thought of cosplaying one of the characters?
A good idea, but find a lot of small belts. LoL! That's what I'm going through right now for a Ky Kiske costume to take to Megacon.

02-06-2003, 05:26 AM
I agree, easy to learn, a lifetime to master^_^ I think the graphics are well done.... and I'm making Dizzy someday soon ^___^

I cosplayed as Sol at last Anime Expo. Funstuff.

02-06-2003, 07:38 PM
Just got XX today. Awesome game, I'm horrible but it's fun to play through the story modes and go at it with friends.

That game can teach aspiring character designers more about character design, than 4 years in college. Then again, my lousy school didn't teach me squat.

Talk about inspired character design in a 2D game, a genre notorious for 1 dimensional characters, I think the Guilty Gear series even beats SNK in original looking designs. Sure, you have some of your character staples, but even their personas seem to be fleshed out a bit more than average.

As for cosplaying... They're often wearing complex outfits. GGX cosplay may not be the best thing for a novice to start out with, if they're shooing for accuracy. But if you pull it off... Man, you've probably got a hell of a costume.

02-10-2003, 08:48 AM
yeah... i agree with you orochiyamazaki... the GGX is better than GG...i like the drawings even though its just 2D....

i like the character ANJI and KY KYSKe... and also MILLIA RAGE..she's sexy and pretty... :bouncer:

im thinking in cosplaying ANJI but i dnt hav the body...KY KYSKe, he has a very well-done outfit and lastly TESTAMENT...i like his CARET(weapon)...and his dazzling black costume... :bouncer:

YAY! Another Sol Cosplayer~!

This sucks now just now I have to dust off my Sol costume and fix it up even MORE since GGXX is out. I was Sol at AX as well. Gah! Justin! Why?!?

Of course, GGX is better than GG because GG came out 3-4 years BEFORE GGX! DUH! Oh, and just master 1 or 2 characters. It doesn't take that long if you're dedicated to it. =P

02-10-2003, 05:48 PM
Compared to other fighting games, the GG series required more skill; that's why they probably said it takes while to master. Excellent game though; I'd recommend it.

...anyone for a GGXX group at AX2003? :D I could bring my Ky Kiske costume.

02-10-2003, 08:20 PM
ummm... i think evil colsanders is a bit rude in his opinions and i just dont like the way he comments!!!

02-10-2003, 09:31 PM
-.- just another tread to remind me that my GGX PS2 disc isn't working for some reason! aggg

i love that game!

Graphics are wonderful

02-10-2003, 09:47 PM
hehehehehe...may be it's pirated DJ(SiC)ness...
its really a great game...nice graphics and especially their deadly moves...hihihiihihiihi...i like ANJI and KY KISKe....they're all cute and good looking...they ROCK!!!!

02-11-2003, 01:52 AM
Evil ColSanders- How did you create your prop sword for Sol? I'm making Kiske's Furaiken; but I'm trying to get a general 'consensus' on how I should go about making one...

Evil ColSanders
02-11-2003, 03:07 AM
Yeah, I'm rude and rough around the edges.
I'm not NiceGuy ColSanders now, am I?

My prop sword? I used a 2x4 and cut a piece out to grip it. I then added 2 pieces of particle board for the hilt. It's really funny cuz my sword has a piece bond on it! LOL

Anyway, you gotta ask this guy named Chris. I don't know his IM or if he's on here but, he's done a remarkable KY. I think he wittled down a piece of wood and then cut slots on the side and pieced the other pieces of wood to the side with glue.

02-12-2003, 10:29 PM
awwww.... thanks for telling me that ur rude and not nice...hihihihiihi...now i can adjust to it....heheheheh ^_^v

I was going to cosplay Sol for Katsu, but I didn't have enough money to buy the leather supplies. At least I'll be ready for the later cons.

02-13-2003, 01:53 PM
i love the game ^_^ Ive been playing GG since the first one came out on PSX.

I already have a sol badguy cosplay. i need to work on it more tho. Sol 2.0 is in progress!! I need a new sword too :(

Im trying to convince one of my friends to go as Ky Kisuke.

i am also working on a MIllia Rage costume. ^_^

02-14-2003, 01:07 AM
I was semi-considering doing on of Millia's dark toned variation, but I'm just so confused looking at all that hair. o.o;;

02-14-2003, 06:37 AM
I want to see someone cosplay Dizzy. ::flail:: >O

A friend of mine's cosplaying Dizzy for the upcoming 'Megacon' convention on March 1st... I'll post pictures. We're expecting to have Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Slayer, Axl Low, May, Johnny, Faust, Chipp, and possibly Bridget. :)

02-15-2003, 01:49 PM
Yay! Dizzy rox0rz. ;.;

02-18-2003, 07:14 AM
me im planning to make a costume for ky kiske and anji(i have to firm my muscles a bit though) after i finish my tidus(FFX) costume. :bouncer:

02-20-2003, 04:31 PM
Hmm. I've seen a few wingless Dizzy's but never a totally complete one. They were really good costumes anyway, tho. And I was witness to a very spectacular Justice. Still, I say we need a Kliff and a Zappa. I'd almost pay to see them.

There will be a small-scale GGX gathering at ACen and hopefully a big one at Otakon this year. I'm enhancing my Baiken (actually going to make a claw and do the hair properly this time) and I've also just begun Testament - and I think I'll be a much more convincing Testament ^_-*

But, if anyone needs references, I always offer to scan in the drafting artworks. Or if anyone just needs general help, just message me.

02-20-2003, 10:48 PM
testament's costume is awesome!! i like his weapon!!! :bouncer:

02-20-2003, 11:54 PM
Testament's costume is -very- awesome....this is the most skin I'll ever likely be showing in a cosplay. O_o

Anybody out there wanna be Zio for me? Hehe.

I have to redo my Sol costume as well. I made the whole thing out of vinyl. It looks nice...but it is so uncomfotable. Ugh, I was roasting all day. And I HATE my wig. Sooo much.

02-21-2003, 10:01 PM
I love Guilty Gear 2X. I was contemplating cosplaying Dizzy for a while, but realised I didn't have the balls to wear her outfit.

One day I plan on making Zappa's outfit, complete with a blow up doll dressed as the female spirit that inhabits him.

This is all in the far future, being I don't have the money to invest in this outfit at current time.

02-23-2003, 09:32 PM
it all takes some guts to wear any outfit...as long as you feel good and really want to be in his/her outfit...it doesnt matter how you look like or if you're a girl or boy... :bouncer:

02-25-2003, 01:01 AM
I just finished a commissioned 'Faust' costume for a friend of mine to wear to a conventiont his weekend. Tell me what you think, LoL. If you have trouble seeing it, just check the last page of my photo gallery on this site.

Woo I love the graphics for the game.
Just something about the 2d Fighting games will always have a place in my heart. *wipes a tear from her eye*

I plan to Cosplay at Jam soon.

And Bridget is damn cute for a guy... or girl.. or...
*scratchs head*

02-25-2003, 10:08 AM
Guilty Gear is the best fighting game ever and willalways be the best fighting game ever. I'm also trying to cosplay Sol, Chipp, Slayer and Johnny.

I would love to do Chipp Zanuff, I been with Guilty Gear since it was on Playstation one. Very rare, but its beautifully designed, hardcore gameplay and constantly gets better and better. My friends a hardcore fan, and if you notice its got Rock n Roll references and sex references.

02-27-2003, 04:38 PM
I'm not a huge Guilty Gear fan, but the costumes seriously rock, and I -really- like I-no from GGX2, so I'm going to be cosplaying her to AXNY and probably Otakon if I lose enough weight to do it. ^_^

03-02-2003, 09:03 AM
i really like ANJI!!!! geezzz.... *waahhh....* i wanna cosplay him now!!! *waahhh....* :bouncer:

03-02-2003, 11:43 AM
GGXX gameplay is very good and complex. Beginners can still have fun with it. Character designs are very creative. A very polished game.

Capcom, however, has stagnated in its fighting games of late, and I think they are concentrating more on 3D games.

SNK started to stagnate as well before they went out of business.

I wanted to do the pink alternate version of Millia for the longest time. Her hair is not really that hard to do. She actually has short hair if you look at her sprite, aside from that really long lock that can be bought separately and tucked into the headband or something.

Maybe next year, I can get around to doing her.

03-02-2003, 09:24 PM
waahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! ANJI and TESTAMENT!!!!!!!!!! waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wanna do them!!!!!!!! waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! :bouncer:

03-02-2003, 09:51 PM
I love GGX! I cosplayed as Jam at otakon 2003... that game is so much fun..but sometimes it can be frustrating... things move too fast!

03-02-2003, 11:05 PM
Anji's actually my next GGXX cosplayer to attempt. :) I wore my Ky Kiske costume to Megacon this past weekend, which turned out alright, save for the humidity and that I didn't bother to put on
the blue shinguards.

03-03-2003, 08:40 PM
is it ok if i cosplay anji???but my body isnt defined as anji's body... waahh!!!! i really wanna cosplay him!!! :bouncer:

03-03-2003, 09:52 PM
You don't have to ask "permission" to cosplay anyone. Just do it. Besides, the more the merrier, right?

03-05-2003, 04:43 AM
Yeah!! thanks for the encouragement makiotwist!!! i'm excited now to make his costume :bouncer:
