View Full Version : Talim from Soul Caliber 2 is...
... a Pinay!!! My brother pointed it out to me becaus he recognized that Talim meant "sharp" in Tagalog. And she's cute too! Another future cosplay for my list. ^_^ And a lot of the other costumes are neat too, I like Xiangha's from both SC 1 and 2. Nice stuff!

Pinay=Female from the Phillipines.
Both Yunsung and Talim are great characters (though I'm pretty sure Yunsung is Korean...?), I've seen Talim cosplayed twice...with one of them in my Cosplay.com gallery. No Yunsung yet, but I'm sure that'll change soon enough. ^_-
I saw your first pic of Talim.. it's nice, but I'm considering actually dying or spraying blue in my hair to get that shaded affect.. o.o;

Being a pinoy myself, I love to see my brethren acclaimed in any way... And as for Soul Calibur, it's one of my favorite games! I'm feared with my impaling skills.. hehehe.. Does anyone know that there was a weapon designed during the colonization of Southeast Asia made specifically to kill Fillippinos? Figuratively, Talim would be an unstopable character since this weapon isn't in SC2... Well, that weapon was the .45 cabiber bullet. At that time, the current standard was .44 caliber. When the West met us stubborn Fillippinos, they tried shooting their way into our country. One problem with .44's: though it was fatal, the fatal effects weren't instant. We would get shot, but we wouldn't go down... Scared out of their minds, the Westerners had to upgrade their weapons to accomodate such fierce people. The funniest thing about this history lesson is that an average pinoy is about 5'5" in height and about 140 lbs. Not very 'intimidating' in my sense, I'm 6'2" 230 lbs. Hey Jinx, I bet you didn't know about this 'Fillppino Killer?'.. Makes you kinda proud to be pinay eh?

yepyep my sister made a very pretty Talim^____^ tho we didnt hav time for the pony-tail-holder-things since she kinda threw it all together a few days before the con X_X;;;
MegaPlayboy: (sorry so late) Oh my God, you are 6'2" and full Pinoy? I'm a measly 5'2"!! Ugh. And no I didn't know that little fact. I wonder if my mom does... As for your logo, my brother found a nice got adobo? shirt somewhere online.. hehe.
Heki-chan: Your sister did a great job with Talim. I hope she takes that one step further with the hair, ne? I'm really going to trya nd master the hair.
