I recently learned about CosJoy (http://www.comicon.co.jp/cosjoy/) cosplay events in Osaka and Kyoto Japan and I look forward to attending some events, but I have one question about it and events in Japan in general:

In America, since I do JPop cosplay, I perform the dance to go along with my costume at conventions. Is that allowed there, or is it just a photo event?

Thanks and sorry if this seems like a dumb question :)

The rules, from what I can see, don't prohibit dancing, but a lot of the rules seem to focus on safety issues (no weapons, open umbrellas, etc) and respecting the cosplayers around you. I think it's safe to say that, if you start dancing and it interferes with those around you, you'll be asked to stop.

I noticed the site for that event you linked to also prohibits "noise making."
-No stereos.
-No musical instruments.
-No other loud noise making devices.

Most photographers like taking multiple pictures so dancing would be excellent practice for coming up with a lot of creative poses.
