I didn't see one made for this year, so forgive me if there already is one.

Anime Evolution! It's the only con I get to go to. Is anyone else here going? I know there have been complaints from previous years (and this is not the place to make them), but I want to know! I don't know if anyone here has an account on the AE forums, or if anyone there has an account here.

My costume schedule is-
Friday = Integral Hellsing, with an Alucard and a Seras
Saturday = Edward Elric, with pretty much the whole cast
Sunday = Edward Elric (again), with a Robin Sena and possibly a Trisha Elric.

Hope to see you there!
(If you have any questions about the area/weather/events at the con, feel free to ask!)

Where/When is Anime Evolution?

I've only heard of M-Tac, Anime North, CN (or whatever u wanna call it), and D-Tac - not to mention all the dances and parties.

It's just out side of Vancouver BC actually. I'm planning to go and I know we'll probably have our Chobits group out there again at some point. We're also planning on having a group of Sakura's from CCS but I'm not sure if we'll all get them done.

Yeah, it's in Vancouver (Burnaby actually, but more people know where Vancouver is) BC. It's in the middle of August - the 18th, 19th, and 20th (Fri, Sat, Sun).

I've never heard of some of those cons you listed. They must be in Ontario. *hates the east for getting all the cons*

I might be going, I need to plan for Animethon first, but I just might go to AE06 too ^^. I'd bring my Lilith or Felicia and probably Kairi. Though it's still a huge -maybe- if I go ^^''

Ah, BC, no wonder i've never heard of it. its all the way on the other side of the country! haha!
Unfortunatly, If i can't get to it by car or subway, it's Too far away for my blood. :)

ShiroInu

It's like that with me, TribalButterfly. But the next nearest conventions for me are Kei-kon (Victoria, BC), which requires a ferry to get to, and Sakura-con (Seattle, WA), which requires crossing the border. I can't get to those yet (maybe in a couple years), so I'm stuck.

I'm going! ^.^ I need tickets...I'm totally relying on my boyfriend, who lives in Surrey, for this to be set up ^^; HE'S MAKING ME SO NERVOUS THOUGH. We totally need to plan this now @_@ First he is coming to New York to visit, then I'm going up there, then he's coming back here with me, then leaving after a bit @_@ I need to be escorted or I can't go =( Which is why there's all the crazy to and fro junk @_@ But we have to plan it so I am there when this is going on. Then get tickets XD I just like things to be planned way ahead of time...

But yeah, I think I'm going all 3 days. He said we could... still dunno. But I'll be going as Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed! Cause the only other costumes I have are Misha from Pita-Ten and a random sissy maid dress XD For Misha I wouldn't have the right shoes and my Lacus wig might not work ^^; Gah my posts are always so long @_@ I apologize...

ShiroInu
03-07-2006, 06:29 PM
ah! I like Lacus. Her dresses are always so pretty ^^. I'll be looking for you!

(I've made posts that look like essays, so don't worry about it ^^; )

SonarHedgeFox
03-08-2006, 05:12 PM
Yay! =D I'll be the only Lacus there who's the fattest person in the world!! =o Okay no...maybe I'm not ^^; But I think I'm am ;-; We shall see, right? Cause I have no pics of myself <.< I'm trying to eat better now, specially cause of this convention and cause I have really bad self confidence and yeah ._. I want my face to be not messed up either....

I'm horrible to myself ^^;

On another note....I wonder who else is gonna come o.o I guess you were right, not many on this site go here =/

I'll be going to AE '06. It's the closest one for me, and thusly the only one I can really afford to go to. I'm hoping to actually have a costume this time; going to a con without a costume wasn't all that fun. I felt like I was missing out on stuff..

However, to get a costume I'm first going to have to get some money saved up and find a decent costumer. Hopefully a Canadian costumer, cause shipping charges and currency exchange rates are brutal...

The prop is the piece I'm least concerned with. If I can get a costume made, the prop should be easy enough.

If anyone's interested in seeing what I'd like to accomplish, here's a pic. http://sgvy.com/kittyhawk/illus/sgvy_jump.jpg

That's really cute! Someone on here once told me, that if I needed a costume made, I should just post about it in some commissions place on here ^^;; Maybe you should too? Ask for someone in Canada to do it =3 I never got to post my request there, cause the person came to me instead XD

Maybe you should try posting it in Costume Discussion: Other Costumes or General Costume Help? Those seem like the type of places where you could do it =3

I'll be going to AE... If I dont my friends will kill me since I live really close.XD As for costumes... Hrm... I'm currently look at Sophie (Howl's Moving Castle), Shion (Xenosaga), Fire Hero (Sukio 3), Yuuko (XXXholic) And Sakura (Naruto) I dont know which ones I will wear and which ones I wont...XD All depends. Prob will add some more but these are the ones I am currently look at right now.

ShiroInu
03-12-2006, 11:07 AM
That's a nice selection of costumes. It's garanteed that there will be a lot of Naruto cosplayers (they had the largest group last year), so if you like being part of a large group and having many people do the same costume as you, go with Sakura. I saw three Sophies last year (my best friend was one of them), so you might get a better chance of standing out with that one.

As for the others . . . I don't really know those characters ^^; But they are from less popular series (i.e., not shown on TV), so the chances of you being the only one wearing that costume are greater.

Kioko
03-12-2006, 01:00 PM
Oh I know about the size of the naruto group.XD I was in it last year too but as Naruto.XD I was actually the Naruto that kissed the Kakashi(my bf) if you heard about that.XD I also made the Jiraiya costume that was floating about. That was my brother.XDOh and I was sakura last year too but this year it will be sakura with a twist.^^

I dont really go to stand out or have people notice me because it just for fun so I dont worry about being reconized or not.^^;;

ShiroInu
03-12-2006, 01:21 PM
That was you? There was a rumor about a Naruto and a Kakashi making out somewhere . . . Naruto isn't my favourite (it's okay), so I didn't care much.

Now that I think about it, I kinda do recognise you from some of the pictures. You were even in the documentary (I think.)

Kioko
03-12-2006, 05:17 PM
Yeah that was me...XD We did it as a joke but then the fan girls went a little too wild...XD It was only a kiss. I was kinda grossed out myself because the idea of that pairing scared me and people liked it...XD But I guess to rabid fangirls yaoi is yaoi.XD

Alot of my friends were in the documentary and I remember seeing myself in it every now and then as well as being mention but nothing major.^^

i'll be going to AE this year again but not sure if i will attend artist alley or not. i was there last year as Matsumoto (Bleach), Misa (deathnote), Tsunade (naruto) and Rukia (bleach). I doubt a lot of people will know who i am because i was mostly stuck in the artist alley *laughs* and the fact that i tend to fall for characters who happens to be obscure.

anyways, here is a list of costumes i might choose from :)
M.O.M.O (xenosaga epII), Sana (suikoden III), Prince (Suikoden V), Tsunade (Naruto), Howl (howl's moving castle)

If time permits, i might make itachi and fllay but that depends on my commission schedule =\

SonarHedgeFox
03-13-2006, 11:51 AM
It would be neat if you were Flay. Maybe we would end up taking a picture together x3 But Howl...he's pretty =o That's another really cool one <33

Just so everyone knows (for anyone who might not be checking the website regularly), the dates for AE have been changed. They were Aug 18 - 20 (Fri - Sun), now they have shifted to Aug 19 - 21 (Sat - Mon).

Sieneko
04-09-2006, 04:16 PM
Even with the date change I'm still going! Well, at least I'm pretty sure I'm going.

I haven't decided which days I'm wearing these costumes, but for sure I'm going as Chii (Chobits) and Umi (Magic Knights Rayearth). And I might go as one of these characters the other day: Puchiko or Rabi en Rose (Di Gi Charat), Isura (Tide-Line Blue), or Ashley Graham (Resident Evil 4). So far it looks like Ashley's the most likely choice out of those. :D

SonarHedgeFox
04-09-2006, 09:27 PM
Omg o.o I MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT ON THE LAST DAY. *glimmer of hope*

Definitely going, in the process of trying to reserve a dorm. (Haven't been able to talk to anyone at reservations in person yet, though....) First time I'll be going on my own, as opposed to with a boyfriend, so I'll finally have a room to myself!

My costume list keeps changing, mostly because so many costumes I was working on (like for Sakura Con) didn't get finished in time. They've all been pushed forward, until I have about seven possible NEW costumes for Anime Evolution.

However!

Definitely:
Fuu (Magic Knight Rayearth)
Xellos (Slayers)
Kagome OR Sango, most likely Kagome
Merle (Escaflowne; because I always do, it's my signature, and most detailed, cosplay; with revamped dress and wig by con time, hopefully)

Since I'm part of group cosplays for the first three, they have priority. Anyway, Fuu is about 70% done already, and I'm mad enough I didn't finish it in time for Sakura Con. And I kind of goaded a pair of friends into doing Ayame and Kouga (Inuyasha), so I definitely have to do Kagome (or Sango, if we can find another Kagome, since I've already got a Sango costume).

What I'd like to do, besides these:
Keel (Tide-Line Blue; I'll help ya, Sieneko, honest! Please do this one with me!)
Lum (Urusei Yatsura; this one's a definite possibility, since it's nearly complete anyway)
Piyoko (Di Gi Charat; another definite possibility, if I can just figure out how to do the pattern on the fabric)
Anna Kyoyama (Shaman King; the costume's so simple, I'll probably make it anyway; the outfit's perfect for a summer con, and my hair will be at the perfect length and style by con time)
Shampoo (Ranma; my super-awesome wig cries out for con attention)
Mac (Blade for Barter; because I love it)

What I'd like to do that probably won't happen:
Tomoyo-hime (Tsubasa; too much to do, what with the costumes I'm making for other people, and too warm for summer; best wait till Sakura Con '07)

Oh, I better get cracking on my costumes! Only three and a half months to go! Updated cosplay list is in my sig...I'm still contemplating a sixth costume, likely Anna or Lum, for Friday when I pick up my badge.

And just so everybody knows, there is going to be an Inuyasha photoshoot on Saturday! Still looking for an Inuyasha! *going as Kagome* I wanna get some cute shots, especially Kagome/Inuyasha and Kagome/Inuyasha/Kouga/Ayame (those'll be fun to pose for). Changes to my list again... >< I'm sure this will be happening even more since my cosplay group and are are just to fickle...

Sophie- Howl's Moving Castle
Flame Champion- Suikoden 3
Temari- Naruto

And then I will prob wear one other one.XD Either Yuuko (holic) or Arashi (X) or Tifa (Advent Children). I have really yet to decided.><

Wow Caloris thats some trip you will be going on. O.o As for someone making you a costume unless you are willing to pay up I don't know if anyone will make you one for free.>< I'll have over $18k AUD in the bank after my next pay, earning about $1k (after tax) about every 2.3 weeks. I get my tax return, about $600-$1.2k, around the time I plan to leave. The RTW ticket will cost a little under $4k. I should have around $16K in the bank when I leave. That gives me about $11k to play with for the trip.

My last trip, 5.3 weeks in the US, inculding 3 conventions, had a total cost of $5000, with transport being 1/3 of that. I'll be able to afford a few costumes.
Ideally, Id like to commission 4 costumes from various people. More realistically, Im looking at 2.

Cure Black (Max Heart)
Kinomoto Sakura

Kino Matoko
Honda Tohru

The date change makes the whole thing a bit easier to work into my trip :P :D
I'm still trying to find somewhere to get a costume from ^^;;

hmm... isn't AE one of the major Canadian conventions? Shouldn't it have a forum on the main page and not just a single thread in "other"?

ShiroInu
05-31-2006, 12:49 PM
AE isn't really that big - last year's attendance was somewhere around 3500 people. But it is the largest con on the west coast - compared to Keikon, the only other con on the west coast.

Though ebay costumes are not the best you might want to check out ebay for a costume.^^ That or look for a commissioner in your area? There are alot of commissioners on these boards. I think you can post on the spam board that your looking for someone to make you a costume and you will no doubt get replies.

As for Ae having its own section... I don't think that enough people on the boards actual go to this con so there is really no point for it to have its own section on the boards. If you want to do alot of AE talking I really would reconmend that you just go to the actual message boards located on the AE webstie. The only really big anime cons in Canada are all on the eastern side of Canada. AE is a really small convention.><

Mucai
05-31-2006, 08:52 PM
3500 people? "Not big"? o.O There are conventions that are smaller with their own forums. I think a convention that size compared to the population of Canada makes it a "big" convention.

I found a costume on eBay, not quite what I wanted, but Makoto can just have a Juuban Jr uniform :P It should fit as far as the mesaurements given on the listing go. I just hope it is long enough (sleeves etc).
The only people "in my area" who have said they take commissions have all sort of disappeared.

ShiroInu
05-31-2006, 09:08 PM
Well, it's small compared to Anime North, which is (I think - I'm not exactly sure) is the largest con in Canada.

But AE is growing still . . . last year's attendance was 2950 people, and this year's is projected at 3800 (my guess of 3500 wasn't too far off). . . fortunately, it's at a University campus, which is designed to hold a lot of people, so it won't have to worry about moving to a new location for a while.

But like Kioko said - you should post on the AE Forums (http://www.animeevolution.com/phpBB2/).

Kioko
06-01-2006, 12:50 AM
Caloris:
Well...concidering the population of Canada is about 32,569,394 ^^ its small if you measure it to that.... ><

Its still too small to have a fourm I say. I mean only 6 ppl prob come and check on this thread regularly.;_; Sadly. I'm sure if we got more ppl then they would give AE its own section but as of right now its just not worth the space. BUT! It seems that all we need is numbers. So the more ppl to come to this thread the more chances of AE getting its own forum.^^ SO lets hope more ppl on cos.com will start to come!

Best Wishes on your costume! Even tho its not the one you were looking for.>< I wish to warn you tho about one ebay company that alot of cosplayers have had problems with and that is honestchinadragon. Apparently what you get is not what you pay for or what the show. So watch out.^^ Sucks that your other people kinda left.;_;

ShrioInu:
Actually there has been alot of talk of the convention moving to a hotel.^^ Which from my experiences at conventions might make it better and allow it to grow even more.

Mucai
06-01-2006, 05:04 AM
I know all about honestchinadragon. I asked about that store on LJ a few months ago and got mixed reviews, a few weeks later, all sorts of bad stuff got posted about that store.

Australia has a population of 21 million. The biggest solely anime convention, Manifest, had 2150 last year.

I signed up at the AE forum a while ago, but I don't remember the username or password I used ^^;;

I won this costume: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6061090729 I just have to wait for PayPal to hurry up and get my bank account added. They won't take my credit card anymore until I do @_@ I'm still looking for 1-3 other costumes.

Hello all I am also going to AE, it will be the only convention I go to, being a broke college student and having no other con's quite close. I have no other choice. This is actually more second convention ever, and well the first one I went too, four years ago in Richomond, bc no longer exists. I sort of did a cosplay that year but well, it was basically a hey that skirt and that shirt would go good for a Jessie/team rocket/pokemon outfit. Though I did find a james and we did do a skit. It was lots of fun.

This year I have these planned costumes. It would be also my first year doing real cosplays. Even if my Lucy and Kirkira costumes consisted on 'buying' pieces. But I will have wigs!!!

Lucy/Nyu from Elfen Lied - 99% finished...all I really need is the red ribbion she wears around her neck. Yes I am doing the little black dress, pink t-shirt number. I am not wearing her knee socks though, I figured that it will be hot enough.

Kirkira (Noir) maybe... This would be a closet cosplay. I have what I refer too as her 'army' outfit. you know the blue tank top, grey sweater coat, and the greeen army/cargo pants. I would need to buy a wig though since my hair is two long and well it's a redish brown, with bright red streaks. So it won't work.

Mistress 9(it was orginally wickedlady but I can't afford her wig) from Sailor moon S... This will technically be my real homemade cosplay outfit. Thanks to my mom's help (ah basically making of the costume). This is 0%done, since we will be doing this in one week, at the end of july. I know leaving it for the last minute. But my mom lives in another city and well it takes a long time to get to her. I am going to go look for a long black wig as well.

For Next year's Con. I want to go as Wedding Peach. Her ripoff senshi/solider outfit. But I will proabably need a commison for this.

If you're a local, Dressew in downtown Vancouver has lots of cheap wigs. Not very high quality, but if you're on a budget, they're perfect.

Thank you, Thank you I have been trying desperatlly to remeber the name of that place. Okay so it's called Dresssew, okay can you tell me how to get there? You can easily walk there from Waterfront Station downtown. From the main entrance (where the B-line stops), walk up one block, and then left two. If you see the Church of Scientology building, you're close. If you see Weed shops, you've gone too far.

Hope that helps.

If you're doing FMA, look for our photoshoot on the Sunday of the con. There's about 25 of us in my group alone - all unique characters (no doubles)-, plus 20 more who are just individuals.

And there are even some other BBI cosplayers.

My friend and I will be going to AE!!!!

It's actually a b-day gift from my dad he is paying for EVERYTHING and giving me spending money.

I will have an Edward in my group, and I will be Miniskirt Riza. We will also have a different type of Military uniform that is sorta hard to explain, so people will have to see it when we get there in August.

I just found this thread lol, been looking for one for about a month now. But I am glad I did. You know the dates have changed just by one day right? It starts on Saturday and ends on monday...I will probably be going up on Thursday night still just so I can see Vancouver a bit on Friday, I have never been there before.

But yes I really can not wait now. I hope to run into you guys there!

What's everyone doing about accommodation? I'm trying to find somewhere to stay, but aren't having much luck. It looks like the only people offering on the AE forum are trying to cram 20+ people into a townhouse meant for 4 or 5.

I never miss AE... not for the world>> << I have been to Every AE since 2003 ^^ It's the best Con I have ever seen... well considering it's like the only con I have ever really been to and the only one I have been able to get too... But they get AWESOME guests ^^. I mean Vic Mignogna is even going to be there this year!

Sadly though I am starting to regret the costume I had commissioned. I am going to be like the BILLIONTH Ed clone -_- Usually I am the ONLY one of my kind at that con and I hate to follow the masses... Well that's not true, I hate it when people SAY I am following the masses... Really I want to be Ed Elric cause I really love his character... that and my friends say I act like him >> << I dunno though, I am not looking forward to someone looking at me and going "Ugh, another Edward."

However there really is no tuning back for me on this costume. The man I ordered it from actually requested people to wear his work to cons and show it off for him... Essentially I am his model... I'll even be making buisness cards for his site and handing them out.

Mwahahaha. I'm original; I don't expect to see many Bluebird Als or Greeds. But I'll be sure to glomp you all, and hump you a couple of times. <3
Blechhh, I want to make a third costume, but I don't know what... I want to actually LET MY BOOBS HANG FREE and be a girl (and prove that I can be femme as well as butch!), but I dunno who to be. I seriously need to watch more anime.

So exciting to actually see alot of FMA cosplayers now. I remember 3 years ago when my friends and I did it an no one knew who we were...><

OH! I just wanted to put it out there that to anyone that is interested my friend (Jingster) and I are going to be offering free photoshoots at AE if anyone is interested. Just contact us through our LJ. (http://ohsnap-photos.livejournal.com/profile) (under the request a photoshoot link. [Oh and its public posts too so you dont need an Lj to request one.) We wish to build up our skills and portfolio and are looking for anyone who is willing to spare sometime at the con for some photos.

Some examples of our recent work from Anime Expo can be found here. (http://www.ohsnap.limitbreak.ca/index.php?cat=21)

So yeah if anyone is interested drop us a line. We are both very farmilar with the SFU campus as we have done maybe photoshoots there. (And I actually go there...><) So I'm sure we could find the perfect location for any costume.

All I have to say is to all the photographers get your chances to get the FMA 2006 AE team together there may only be small chances where the entire team is there:P

and of course to all the attendees watch out for the infamous mini skirt scene:)

This is my second year at AnimeEvolution, and my first time cosplaying. ^^; Of course, I had to go and choose something hard like Keroberos, which is being a 'female dog' to make, and doesn't look right at the moment.

I would post on the AnimeEvolution forums, but it's not being nice and I haven't gotten a confirmation email.

I hope to see you all there! Hopefully some or most people will have a Nintendo DS so I can bug them on PictoChat.

This will be the first time I am attending Anime Evolution. I just got confirmation on a dorm room though so that is good. It went from having 5 of us there...to only two, possibly 3 if the other girl can meet up with us. Which I am hoping for. I can't wait!

i will be going to Anime Evo, which will be extra fun because i live in Calgary and me and a bunch of my friends are road tripping !!! I have been to Evo before, a couple years ago, but from the website it seems it has gotten a lot better, and a lot of cool guests !

The convinent thing about calgary is edmonton is just a couple hours away, so most people get to at least go to 2 cons.

as for costumes...... i am going to be T.K. from digimon, haha, for one day and maybe B. jenet or one of my older costumes for the other days... but i always change my mind last minute.....

I'm going to it this year mainly to meet some innanetz friends for the first time in person. I'm going to be cosplaying Vyers from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Very hard character to miss. Glompage is accepted, just don't break the wings or I'll be a sad Mid-Boss.

As for accomdations, I booked a hotel a couple miles away and will just take the local bus with my posse of cosplayers, freaking out all the "normal" people. :D

My costumes have changed ^.^ lol Since I o longer have the long blonde hair and no time to get a wig, I will no longer be Riza, but with the short dark hair I have I can be Roy. I found a plushie at Toys R Us, so I now have a Black Hayate lol. Not exact but close enough and just as cute.

Also the Blue costume is done! just gotta fix up a few things on the jacket, and finish the scarf. Th boots should be here this week. My friend is making her Toboe costume.

If you see an Ed and Roy on skateboards...that would be me and my friend. Instead of walking we're gonna be on skateboards. We're staying ont he campus in a dorm and from what I heard it is a good distance away...so yeah..skateboards it is.

I'll be going this year. Last year was the first time I went, but I had only found out about the con a month or two in advance so I wasn't really prepared.
This year I'll have three cosplays:
Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club
Tenten from Naruto
Aerith from Kingdom Hearts

Oh, and I'm on the AE forums as KonekoHime. ^^

I will be attending AE again! I've been going there since 2004, it's
always better every year, but this year I've heard it's going to be
even more spectacular! ^_^ Actually...I'm interested in getting a
group of people together with my friends to hang out, of course it
also means I would like to meet new people too. Hehe. I just can't
wait...2 weeks to go...I hope the weather will be good though, not
too hot but not rainy either as it is right now as I look out my window.

This is just a small list of the things I hope to do or try and if
anyone is interested in attending these with me or me and my
friends please feel free to give me a shout, it's always nice to
go with other people sometimes to share the conventure with.

Voice Actors I want to meet at Anime Evolution:

Trevor Devall - Voice Actor (I met him in 2004, but I would
not mind going to see him again, he was a lot of fun hehe.)
Micheal Richard Dobson - Voice Actor
Vic Mignogna - Voice Actor (Of course!! I love Edward!)
BTW I was thinking of giving Vic a present, does anyone have
any suggestions since his birthday is on August 27
Kirby Morrow - Voice Actor (I met him also last year, but I
did enjoy hearing him do his Gundam Wing voice of Trowa)
Brad Swaile - Voice Actor (Fangirls took him away from me
last year, and I was unable to get his autograph, this year I will.)
Cathy Weseluck - Voice Actor and Instructor ( I met her and
talked to her a lot about Cybersix, but was too shy to ask her
about voice acting and location of where her workshop is located.)
Greg Dean - Web Comic Creator ( I met him from Sakura Con in
2005 and Anime Evolution of the same year. I promised him that
I'd get him a nifty present next time he is up here and I kept my word)

a lot of voice actors coming and music performances. Are you at

BTW I love your website...I too plan on look into 'maybe' trying
or pursuing voice acting. Maybe you can give me some tips hehe.

I'm sure we'll meet up sometime throughout the con ^_^
What are you and your friends cosplaying?
My friends and I will be cosplaying as the Samurai Champloo trio, so if you see us please come over and say hi!
We're staying in one of the townhouse suites. (i'm not sure which one at the moment)

I could probably get some contact info for you as to who might be able to help you progress further towards voice over acting.
Cathy and Michael were the ones who helped me out. They both provide classes with up to date info on the industry and how to get into the field, ADR training and making voice demo cds.

good question, I don't really know hehe...I do know one friend
is going as a few male characters such as Duo Maxwell from
Gundam Wing I believe...? That's a great cosplay you and
your friends plan to be doing! Have you guys been doing it
long? I really loved the Anime series! Wow...contact info
sounds really great, I mean I know I could do this by myself
and talk to Cathy when I see her but I know she'll probably
have her hands full this year. I met her last year at AE but I
got cold feet at the last second to ask her about workshops.

Anyway if you'd like to reach me I have MSN that I would be
more than happy to let you have to stay in touch or you can
access it through my profile here on cosplay.com. Whoot! the

Done and done and thank you Lila. I don't know why but I've got
tears down my eyes, happy tears they are hehe. But this is so
very appreciated to finally meet someone who has had the same
dream as me to going into voice acting, can't wait to see you at
the con, ps, if you'd like to hang out before than drop me a line
here or my hotmail and maybe we can get together or I'll just see
you at the con. It's so close and yet the weather is something I
hope will be good. Remember last year...I think it was (?) It did
actually rain for that one day, it was crazy but it cleared up in
the evening, still I stood outside eating my lunch and listen to it.

Oh, and before I forget I'm super psyched about a panel at
the con called 'Amateur Voice Acting Panel' I'll definitely be there!

I'mm soooo going to be there! Hopefully as Sakura Haruno and Mikage Aya... If i get the costumes done by the weekend. My boyfriend would make an awesome Roy Mustang... but I have no time to make the costume.. and I dont think hes all that into cosplaying. I might also be with my sister for one of the days who will be dressing up as one of the little girls from Gunslinger Girl. Oh I am excited :D

Oh Also I had a question.. im 18.. so it means I need the permission form signed, correct? But after 12, I believe there are no minors allowed? What is the age for that? Am I able to stay or do you have to be 19?

Usachan
08-15-2006, 05:06 PM
Well, according to Anime Evolution's website it reads as follows
this to be the guideline:If an attendee is a minor (i.e.: under the
age of 19), they must have a completed and acceptable parental
consent form signed by their parent or legal guardian. An attendee
under the age of 12 must have a completed and acceptable consent
form signed by a parent/legal guardian and must be accompanied by
an adult chaperone at all times. The chaperone may be anyone of
19 years of age or older. (If you'd like someone like me to be there
with you, hanging out with your boyfriend or whatever I wouldn't
mind. Currently I like to meet new people and I have friends over
20 that will be there. I'm 23 of course and my youngest friend is 19.)

ShiroInu
08-15-2006, 08:03 PM
Curfew is at midnight, so minors (18 and under) have to be off convention grounds (i.e., back in their dorm/townhouse, or gone home)

Curfew is lifted at 6am.

Since this is my last forum message about Anime Evolution for awhile

btw, they were having some problems remembering their policies. They were giving minor badges to people who were 18 and then asking them to leave the premisis after midnight. On the website it clearly says that the curfew is for only those under 18, so i printed that out and im attempting to get an adult badge today. Yay. and why exactly is there a curfew? Just thought I would let you guys know that I have been uploading some of my pictures but in my haste back and forth I dont know if I got alot of you. But do check them out here. (http://ohsnap.limitbreak.ca/index.php?cat=24)>> Just in case.>>

Sumiayumi> Curfews are at all conventions no matter where you go. Its more for protection and such. The con places them to let parents know that their children will not be run about at 3am and getting into any trouble. As well as SFU has rules about curfews. I'm not 100% percent sure about everything but its mostly for safety.

You boyfriend saw me.^^ Cool!^^

yah i knew there would be a curfew, but they were not quite clear on the conditions they had set. I didnt end up staying until 12 anyways soo i guess in the long run it didnt matter. I had a nice long chat with someone at the regestration booth about their policies and why they were put in place, it wasquite enlightening.

Hi All,

I survived...*barely* from Anime Evolution and I have a BIG post
to be writing about in the next few hours to mention about today!

Also, I'm quite serious about thinking about not returning next year.

I was pretty disappointed in general at the convention, between
the dealers room and the main events square performances,
and I need to do some serious thinking and decision making
before I can make a commitment to going or not going in 2007.

This year was my first Anime Evolution and I liked it, it was pretty fun. I managed to get a lot of pictures taken of two of my three costumes. Didn't get any of my Terry Bogard unfortunately (Not the TB who was in the walkoff with the red cap, the one with the "Running Wild" jacket). Surprisingly won an award in the Cosplay competition with my friend Ness, met a bunch of new people and just had a good time. I'd gladly go back again next year, despite some issues people I know had, like the oversaturation of Yaoi and Yuri content in the weekend.

Glad to hear some reviews on the convention. I enjoyed it myself even though I was stuck in the AMV room about 90% of the time. I wonder how many people I got pictures of for cosplay this year. If anyone wants to check out my pictures for AE2006 go to my site. I am still totally working on my site so be patient for those slow updates. Keep in touch on my forums if people wish to start up a new board chat.
