Hmm . . . this problem is going to come back to haunt me at AX, big time, but I think for now I'll worry about my AXNY costumes. ^^; I'd like to do a Juna cosplay for AXNY; I have time, it's quite simple, but I have one problem. The bow. I can't think of any way I can make it full size and still get it to the con from Chicago. Piccie -
Anyone have any brilliant ideas for making a bow I can take apart/put back together? If I do a replica, but little (toy bow size), would that be goofy? Should I wait to do her until a local con? Thanks for any opinions ^^

that just screams to be made of dowel rods and some kind of model puddy.
but for making it two pieces, make the halvs slide together at the grip somehow mayhaps. some kind of dowel setup...
ok... i tried... ^^;

Well I dont have much advice on how to make it, but as far as transporting it if you were able to make it a way that it was flexible and could be straight without the string, you might be able to use one of those long tube things people put fishing poles in for travel.

lol thank you for trying, Jibrille. ^^ I was thinking model magic or maybe another air-dry clay, styrofoam egg, beads, over a purchased frame.
ooh Foxwolfe, that gives me an idea! If I make my own frame out of balsa, I can use the tension of the wire/string to keep it bent, then remove it for travel. In a tube like you said. And a fishing pole tube would be longer than a poster tube! XD Very good idea. Hmm . . . I guess I better finish Chrno first, then I should still have time to make it . . . ooh, I'm excited now, I think a chibi version of the bow would look kinda lame, lol.

Heh well Im glad I could help.
*nods* The tube thing (actually two small package shipping tubes taped together) is what I had to use to get my Yuna staff to California from Missouri. (It had a detachable headpiece.) It actually worked very well. The airlines don't even mind as long as you tell them it's part of a costume... the airline I went on and insisted on calling it a dance costume, but anyway... they mark it as fragile and you're all good to go.
