Anyone around here going?
My boyfriend's dad is a long-time comic collector and he hates having to pay for admission when all he intends on doing is buying a $300 comic book... So this "Special Fan Appriciation" even kicks butt! We'll be there for sure!
I don't usually see cosplayers at strickly Comic conventions in Toronto so I have no intentions of cosplaying this year, but maybe next year? ^^

I have some friends who have gone but I'm more into online comics so it's not so much for me.

To get the free admission your boyfriend's Dad has to buy a minimum $10 worth of comics from a participating comic store. Still not a bad deal. Just make sure he asks at the store to make sure they are participating, not all comic stores in Toronto will be.

Hmmm ... I don't know how much free time UI'll have by then end of April, but I think I'm more interested in finding out how to offload some of my comics actually. I used to collect comics a lot back in high school, but I now have about 2 boxes worth of them that I don't really want anymore. Maybe they can tell me the best method of selling them ...

I'm going and in cosplay too~

Although it seems to be mainly Western themed they have it open to manga/anime cosplayers as well, also seen in the quote by Yellownectarine.

I've never been, but it looks like a lot of fun^^

At MTAC they were handing out free admission tickets for the ComiCon.
If anybody wants mine I wouldn't mind mailing it out in letter-form.

Actually Hobbystar's Toronto ComiCon fan appreciation event is not the event offering the Costume Contest (at least not this contest, not from what's on their site http://www.hobbystar.com/hobbystar/ConventionsAprilFeatures.html ).

The Costume Contest is happening at Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon that's on the weekend of April 28-30. http://torontocomicon.com/ . The costume contest seems to be put on at the Paradise con by Okatu Island Productions: http://www.otakuisland.ca/
