I was looking at other anime cons websites and stats, and I was wondering if NDK the best con in CO? In number, staff, dealers, and fans?

I haven't really seen many more cons in CO (if any), but from wat I have heard about some conventions that make it to CO is that most of them aren't that great, like KuniCon. So I definitly think that NDK is like the best (if not the only) con in CO. there are, however, cons in neighboring states.

Well it depends on what kind of con you're looking for. If you're looking for anime it's the 1 and only (I beleive the Kunicon just kind of gave up). If your looking for scifi/fantasy it's not too great (but I caqn't recomend any other con seeing as I'm not too into scifi). But I'd definately recomend NDK.

There's some sci-fi con mid october that's fairly large and involves many Trekkies. But NDK is th eonly anime con (besides random lock-ins) in CO, to the best of my knowledge.

I would have to say yes it is the best as it is the only local all anime con. Kunicon seems to be a one time deal as I can not locate any of their pages.
There is Megacon and a few others but I haven't been to any so not to sure on them but they lean more to scifi form what I have seen

As for delers there is a nice mix of in town places and out of state places. There is also a good range of stuff for sale form Anime to Kimonos and last year there was a set of lolita stuff for sale and there is an artis ally as well were you can buy original art.
As for staff thy are amazing end of story. Every one I have had contact with has been nice and helpful.
As for the fans... the convention has literly exploded in the past few years and I would say that every one is nice and really fun to talk with. Never had any bad expericance with people at the con.
I do have to note the new location lacks the range of food places...Ther is a single Fastfood chain in walking distance, every thing else you need a car or order out to get.

lady_artemis- Hey I remeber you! Mostly the luna costume I think I have a picture or two of you in my stacks of NDK photos.....I was Aura that year probly would remeber me hanign out with the neo and girl in the orange costume....

Yep Kuni-con was the only other anime con in Colorado, which is actually no more. Five or more years ago there was Miners Con which was put on by the students at the Colorado school of Mines but they just showed anime from what I heard, no dealers.

The science fiction con coming up is Starfest it's next weekend. www.starland.com

The next is in Mid May, the Fantasy/Arts convention called Opus Fantasy Festival. http://opusfest.com

After that is NDK.

Then the Literary Con called Mile High Con is in Mid-Late October. I can't find their website.

Those are the major ones anyway.

yup, lady neese has it all figured out before i could get to it.

ndk=one and only anime and manga convention in colorado. ( people even came from out of state to go to it now. it has gotten much bigger within the last 4 years)
opus=fantasy and comic arts. very fun. i went to it the first year. like 10 people but i had a great argument with a staff from ndk there.
mhc=scifi mostly, but no real trekkies. a lot of random costume and not many people, but i went in '05 and thought it was fun. very open, so anything goes really.

is anyone planning on going to opus this year?

I actually heard KuniKon was good and I heard it was bad. The thing with that con was that they didn't get enough sponsors and therefore they CAN'T come back . . . which sucks because they had two FULL DDR Extreme machines. No cobalt pads . . . MACHINES PEOPLE! ok I'm done . . . NDK is the only con in the wonderful state of CO.

Doesn't that just suck? We need more anime cons in Colorado. But, yes, from my experience, NDK is easily the best con we have. I went to Opus Fest once... didn't like it too much. Maybe it was just the atmosphere of that particular con, but... I just felt out of place. There really wasn't a lot for me to do, and not too many people seemed interested in talking to me or making friends. I think I prefer the Colorado Renfest, as far as fantasy-based events go.
