View Full Version : Earring?

02-23-2003, 01:35 PM
I can't find Yuna's earring ANYWHERE, so I'm assuming everyone who's done Yuna has made it themselves. How do I make it? :S Any advice would be a big help!

Btw her earring is the same in X-2 as it is in X, yes?

I think my friend used sculpy to make it....

I'll send her here. ^_^ ::Copies the link to her.::

Thankies! Any help is very much appreciated...I have no idea how to make it as of now ^^;;

Well since she's still away.. here's my two cents:

Make it out of sculpy (its incredibly light ^_^) and paint it if it needs it. (I usually end up painting it cuz I have a ton of gold sculpy.. u.u; hehe)

::decides i should open a pic of yuna, does so.::

put some holes throughout the sculpy so you can then thread friendship bracelet making thread of the right color through and then tie that off in a little knot so it stays.. @.x get an earring kit making thing.. I dunno.. does that make sense? how to attach it to the part of the earring that goes through the ear.. hm.. damn.. i can't explain it. ;.; ::will try and bug friend to come here again when she's off of away::

When I did my Yuna costume, what I did for the earring was I looked on ebay, and I actually found a very nice girl who made the earring for me (and believe me, it's beautiful and perfectly made), so I'm gonna drop her e-mail off to you. I think I payed... around $20 for her to make it for me, but then I didn't have to deal with the sculpy or anything like that to make it, and she REALLY did an excellent job. Here's her e-mail:

And she went by the name of Angel. ^_^

*huggles her* Thank you so much!! I just sent her an e-mail - it's going to be SO muche easier on me if I don't have to hassel with sculpy or anything. I'm already having a hard enough time with my shirt *growls*

Anyway thanks again for the suggestions everyone! I looked on eBay before but couldn't find anything :\ So hopefully I'll get a reply from Angel soon!

Caryn i have a friend who who is somewhat of an artist(he is helping me with my Kaos staff..aka making the head from scuplty). If the other things do not work out and i get a pic from you i will ask to see maybe i can see if he can make it.I would think it only would cost the price of the actual material, shipping.I do not think he would charge to much more then that.Heck i have blackmail material on him so he better not charge to much lol.
I do have yahoo. If you want you can pm thru this site or thru yahoo.Hope everything works out for you.
Yeah this is my 100th post lol.

an even easier way that's cheap is walmart sells wooden beads. They've got the exact shapes of yuna's earing beads. All you do is take a fine grit sand paper and sand off the shiny finish til it's raw wood then paint using whatever kind of paint u want. I used acrylic gloss paints. The beads turned out nicely and not to mention it's even lighter than sculpty. I bought my 1st earring off ebay and it was like majorly heavy and it was made from sculpty or fimo whichever, but yeah it tugged tons on my ear but once I made it using those wooden beads i dont have that problem. ^_^

Thankies Miaka! w00t now I have 3 back-up plans in case I dun get an e-mail back ^^

And for some reason I kinda expected people to be stingy with how they do things because of competition to be the "best" at a costume or something. I'm REALLY glad that isn't the case here. Chu guys are so good to newbies! And everyone else for that matter ^^

*pokes Hikura* Will you ask your friend if maybe he can make the earring for me? I haven't gotten an e-mail back yet and I'm anxious to put some of the parts for this costume together ^^;; as I may also have to work on a CC and/or Xenosaga costume...

Here is a piccy of the earring if you need, I could probably find a couple more if this isn't clear enough.

I make the earring for $10.00. My web-site is: http://finalfantasycosplay.homestead.com The one there right now isn't that great... but i'm redoing it and hope to be finished by next Tuesday. I'm making the new one out of wooden beads and the 2 side strands will be out of plastic beads. I handpaint all the wood beads so It looks as accurate as possible. Hope you check it out!!! ^_^
