View Full Version : X-Men

Anyone have any X-Men cosplay pics to show off? I'm itching to see some photos of the costumes. It doesn't matter what it's from (comics, tv, movies) I just want to see em'.

I'm tempted to do the Jean Grey (X-Men 3) Phoenix costume next year for Comic Con.

05-19-2006, 05:55 PM
I've actually got some Wolverine shots floating around somewhere...I probably should add that to my gallery soon, since I'm the lead for an X-Men fanfilm, and we've got the X3 premire next week...

05-19-2006, 11:01 PM
I too want to do Jean Grey's Phoenix out fit from 3... But I'm short of refrence pictures.. I guess there will be more posted around here once the movie comes out.

05-20-2006, 08:41 AM
I'm trying to do Rogue's costume (from the comics), but sewing it is very very difficult... :bigcry:

By the way, if you want to see some work in progress picture you can find them here:

I've seen some awesome X-men costumes floating around here...

I haven't started mine yet, so no pics, but I'm planning on doing a Rogue costume sometime in the near future. just have to decide which one. :p Though, at the the moment, I'm leaning toward the Age of Apocalypse costume. Haven't seen that one yet...

But heck, knowing me, I'll wind up doing them all at some point just for the sake of completeness.

I *love* your wig! Where did you get it? The one I found has much shorter/blonder bangs.

I just got home from seeing the movie. Jean Grey has officially been placed on my "need to do" list. It seems pretty simple. Just can't figure out the bottom of the coat thingy.. I'm thinking it comes full circle like Neo's in the Matrix.

05-26-2006, 06:06 PM
I have Rogue's battle suit from X2 (and X3 for the five minutes she was in the movie). My best friends are working on Kitty and Mystique. We also have a few other characters :)

Rogue Granger: Do you have any pictures of your suit? I'll be starting mine soon so I like looking at how others made it. :)

I was going to dress up for X3, but I didn't have the time or resources to make Rogue's costume for the movie- so I improvised. I'm gonna spray my bangs white, and for the costume, it's a black jacket with a white tube top, black pants, boots, and white gloves.

05-27-2006, 09:46 PM
I obviously don't have any pictures yet, but I've been commissioned to make a Beast costume (from X-3) that should be ready by August. The costume itself isn't daunting me particularly, but I'm trying to figure out where to send my commissioner for the prosthetics, since I can't work with latex due to allergies.

05-28-2006, 01:00 AM
I'm actually working on a Gambit costume right now. Only a progress pic in my gallery though.

05-28-2006, 10:15 AM
A group of my friends and I dressed up and helped promo X3 at a local theater. Some of the workers at the theater also dressed up with us.

You can see some pictures here: http://1ucifer.livejournal.com/348484.html

Here is a CGed photo of myself (Nightcrawler) with Mystique:

05-29-2006, 11:17 AM
Kitty form X3 is on the top of my list at the moment. (ok tied with her Evo unifrom) anyways i know that i don't have the skill or time to make the leather one myself but i have gone all over looking for reference pics of it to send to someone (if anyone knows of a good leaterworker or something please pm me) but i found tons of refpics of Jean so if any of you future Phoenix cosplayers need pics just ask ^_^

05-29-2006, 02:49 PM
Anyone going to attempt Jean Grey's Phoenix outfit? (The really really red one in X3) XD

05-29-2006, 03:05 PM
I've always wanted to do one of the battle outfits, but I have no leather working skills what so ever.
Ephemerality~ She's been pushed to the top of my list of must do's. xD And, that outfit was quite red.

05-29-2006, 06:41 PM
Well, Shadowcat has always been my favorite X-Men Character, and now that she seems to (finally) have an expanded and uniformed role in the movies.... Hell yeah!

That and I want to do her yellow and blue spandax costume from Excalibur... (way way back when she and Pete Wisdom were dating)...

... And since I don't have leather-skills, would Rogue Granger be willing to share any of her expert knowledge gained from making her Rogue outfit?

05-29-2006, 10:44 PM
Well I am doing Jean Grey/Phoenix's outfit from X3. Not going to do it until Katsucon next year though. Still am incredibly excited about this costume. Would also like to do Stomr's battle outfit from x3. I doubt I will but I still would like too.

06-02-2006, 04:01 PM
Do I have x-men cosplay? *laughs* I have three costumes of x-men just myself!

Galleries are here:

06-02-2006, 04:35 PM
I'm tempted to do Rogue, I love her...she's gorgeous :)

06-02-2006, 09:00 PM
Still peeved that Gambit wasn't in X:3, I'm going to make a Gambit costume soon. Hopefully, I'll have it done by Katsucon it'll depend on making the armor.

Right now I want to beat my head against the wall just thinking about it.

06-03-2006, 10:04 AM
I was thinking of attempting white queen or pheonix from X-3 I may do both for some conventions. I already know what I need to buy for both of them and drew out plans. I may attend the Dragon Con in Atlanta and the con in Chicago depending if I find someone to travel with me. Only down side is 20 hour bus ride to Atlanta lol.

06-04-2006, 05:34 AM
I hated X3 unfortunatly...but I'd love to cosplay Pheonix...so I'd probably cosplay her red and yellow outfit fromt he comics

Ken Hopkins
06-04-2006, 10:17 AM
so far i have made a chamber cos, but i hope to made a nightcrawler, if i find time for it. :angel2:

06-05-2006, 01:38 AM
I was thinking about doing Phoenix's red and gold outfit, but I promised myself no more unitards for a while.
I didn't really like X-3 after I rewatched it and wasn't like "oooh! explosion!"
but I still really like her outfit in the movie.

06-07-2006, 09:59 PM
Check out this link guys, this Wolverine full costume set rocks!

comes with the wolverine dog tag too

A good buy at $280

06-08-2006, 06:33 PM
I've been looking at the shadowcat design, and have come to a conclusion- its beyond my sewing machine's ability to work with pleather/leather (and possibly my budget, since i have a feeling i'd screw up a lot and thus waste fabric)... Meep!

The costume looks very intricate (and motorcycle racing suit inspired), with lots of panels and stuffs...

In other intersting news....

CHeck these out from ebay:
Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Magneto X3 costume designs - this guy/company/thing knows his pleather!

06-09-2006, 03:04 AM
i disagree!! if you watch the last part of the X2, you will find out that the cyclops pattern that he did is wrong. Moreover, if you pay special attention to every details of the costume, you will feel it is quite cheap in appearance. what i would say is there are always something better out there and at a cheaper price. just my opionion.

Marianne Solav
10-11-2006, 12:34 AM
I started working on Rogue's suit from X2. I finished the belt, the padded parts, trim and accessories. I'm using some kind of thin pleather.
I'm putting pictures of my progress here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v736/Marianne_Solav/Rogue/

10-11-2006, 06:49 AM
I have a Storm costume that I LOVE. I don't sew yet, so I looked through the different versions of Storm, and picked the easiest one (that also required no sewing lol). I chose the X-Men Legends verison, which is also the Ultimate X-Men version of Storm ^_^

It turned out great. I tangled the wig a bit after I washed it :lost: any detangling suggestions guys?

Here are some pics (http://images.cosplay.com/gallery.php?cat=39270&member=43471) of my Storm costume ^_^

10-12-2006, 07:06 PM
I made a storm costume too (also requiered no sewing)! It's the all white version. I already had a white wig from my Urd costume so I just used that! Less money I have to spend! WOO HOO! http://images.cosplay.com/gallery.php?cat=51351&member=51646

I am currently working on a dark Phoenix costume, I am trying my best to work slowly and take my time on this one,(I tend to rush things) so all I have so far Is the wig (and I'm still working on getting the color right).

01-12-2007, 11:17 PM
I did a costume of the original Jean Grey/Phoenix costume and have Dark Phoenix in the works. :3 I wore it to Anime Weekend Atlanta 2006 and Dragon*Con 2006.

01-13-2007, 01:33 AM
I've done Beast and Gambit. Ive got pics of Beast in my gallery, but I dont have any up yet of my Gambit get up even though I did it first.
Normally I would have done the prosthetics for Beast but opted not to. I did Kimahri from FFX and most of my prosthetic work went into making that.
But I did use blue crepe wool to make the side burns.

01-14-2007, 12:29 AM
I've only seen the movies, not the comics (don't hate me xD) but I did Arclight from X3:

And like a lot of people I want to do the X3 version of Dark Pheonix :)

01-16-2007, 09:24 PM
I've done Phoenix...it's in my gallery.

01-17-2007, 07:47 AM
I'd like to make the dark Phoenic costume too. However having just gone frame by frame in several scenes it's much more complicated than it appears, and sadly the real beauty of it is hidden until you go frame by frame and pause it.

I'm so glad I didn't make it last year now!

01-17-2007, 12:46 PM
I have the completed Jean Gray/ Phoenix uniform its also on my other thread so Ill just post one pic with the ref picture

01-19-2007, 10:56 AM
I've got too many other projects to work on right now to make a full X-men costume, but I love to knit and just made myself Rogue's sparkly purple scarf from the first movie. It was super easy and I finished it in less than a week.

Pics to come soon.

06-24-2008, 04:55 PM
I really want to cosplay X-Men, that would be great! Only I don't have nytime to wear it if I made it, seeing as in my town we only have a manga night in my local book shop, and I don't go to fancy dress things or anything :(
I want to go to a comic con, like in Bristol but I will have to wait til I am older AND I don't want to cosplay in case I see my old form tutor there as I know he will be and I would be totally embarrased about it :D

06-27-2008, 04:39 PM
Anyone know of a contacts dealer that has Mystique lenses? I'm looking for orange sclera lenses, but they seem to be pretty hard to come by... I just keep finding lots of black or red ones...

Hoping to do Mystique's white costume soon, *crosses fingers*

For Comic Con. Myself and my friends are doing movie verisons. I believe we may have the entire main cast. I'll send photos after we have debuted them.

07-01-2008, 09:29 PM
Morluna - You could contact 9mmsfx.com for a quote on a custom set of sclera lenses in that style. I got Gambit contacts from the site and am very happy with them. :3

A full cast from the movie will look pretty epic!

I crossplayed Gambit at Megacon and am hopefully going to do so again at Dragon*Con if I can manage to head up there. I keep trying to get a group together and keep failing, but I have a friend who'll hopefully be doing one of Rogue's outfits from the Gambit miniseries.

07-02-2008, 02:15 AM
It would be fun to do a Wolverine cosplay, knowing me I would have to make the claws out of some kind of metal. Hehe, I did with my Sith Lord Sanji cosplay.

07-05-2008, 02:43 AM
Hey Miss Nintendo, when are you guys going to SDCC? My boyfriend and I have an spiffy Nightcrawler costume for him and an ok Jean Grey costume for me ('cause I spent all my energy on his costume, *lol*!). We'll be in X-costume on Sunday this year.

For anyone who's interested, here are pictures of us from last year, when I was Rogue. Keep in mind that his costume was actually unfinished and this year will be a bit more complete. : )

*so excited! : )*

07-11-2008, 01:49 PM
Check out my pictures.
I was just in a group of 13 people. as different xmen in the movie uniforms for Wizard World Chicago

09-25-2008, 05:50 PM
We had a pretty badass X-3 group at SDCC this year
We won first place in the Marvel Costume Contest ^_^
Check out my Storm gallery for some great shots of the group!
Jean: Naxul
Rogue: Miss Nintendo
Iceman: Mr. Nintendo
Unfortunately Wolverine and Cyclops don't have accounts on this site yet, but we will probably change that soon teehee

Check us out!!!

09-28-2008, 01:31 PM
I was x-23 and Layla Miller at Comic-Con...Layla needs to be re-done. I'm currently working on a New X-Men costume version of X-23,too. ^_^

10-01-2008, 01:18 PM

And like a lot of people I want to do the X3 version of Dark Pheonix :)

I'm almost done with my Pietro cosplay.

It's coming along pretty well considering the con I'm wearing it to is two days away. >__>

Not sure if this is a good place for this question or not....

I'm planning a Jubilation Lee costume (comic book, pre-Generation X) for (hopefully) next year. Can anyone suggest a pattern for her yellow jacket? I've scoped a few, but if others out there have already had some experience with this, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for any help. ^^

In my albums I have:

ikearstin those are awesome, especially the Mystique! And I love a traditional Scarlet Witch :)

I'm working on a Domino costume right now for DragonCon. What kind of make-up did you use for Mystique's face?

06-16-2010, 12:22 AM
This is an old thread... XDD

I currently have 2 versions of Emma Frost done, and Polaris, though over the next few months I am planning Rogue (First Appearence), Emma Frost (New X-Men), and Hope Summers.

06-16-2010, 06:55 AM
Mystique is finally, finally finished. *Tears of joy* I wore her to C3 last weekend and even won the costume contest. ^_^ *More tears of joy*

Thank you!
I actually just used some halloween make-up from Party City as a base for the shoot, and then just photoshopped the shit out of it :)

I'm going to get an airbrush machine and do it up that way for actual public use of the costume. I haven't premiered it anywhere yet :)

If anyone can give me some tips on what material to use to make my Ultimate Storm costume, I'd really appreciate it.

Please and thank you.

If anyone knows what pattern is used for her top, that'd be great.:D

Much props for representing the old school X-Men. Looks great by the way.

I think the most obscure X-Men I'd like to do at some point is Xorn. Something about him just always appealed to me. Was sad to find out who he really was, even if the delivery on it was excellent haha

Awesome Mystique!

Good luck with that version of Storm!
