View Full Version : Vega From Street Fighter

Today at Mini-Con in Tulsa, I'll Be Shingo Yabuki off the KOF series, but for next years Mini-Con I really hope to be Vega. An INSANE amount of work seems to have to go into this one. Vega's a really fit guy, all ripped and stuff. I'm not really in too great of shape, so I figure I have a year to work out for it.

My second concern is his Tattoo. For those who don't know, he has quite a large tattoo of a snake wrapping around his upper body. What would be the best to use for that? Marker? Paint kit?

Third, he has a claw, mask, and a couple of rings on his arm(one a bracelet, and the other on his arm.) Whats the best material to use to recreate the metal used? Also he has REALLY long hair. I know I'm going to have to go for a wig, but any suggestions?

Finally, the outfit. For those that don't know...

Matador outfit basically. Shoes can be seen in this...

Any suggetions on either of those? I figure that whatever is needed for this costume, I'll hopefully be able to find and that in a years time, I can get it done. Thanks in advance!

OK, let's break this down:
Mask: go to a costume store and try to find a blank white mask, failing that try a craft store. You could also try one of those halloween hockey masks and just fill in the holes.
Rings/Bracelets: Know those stores in the mall set up for teen mall princesses? They're your friend
Claw: Wolverine costume?
Now this is just if you wanna scavenger hunt for the stuff (i like to lol), if you were to make it I really wouldn't know where to start.

Just a suggestion, but Zhang He from Dynasty Warriors 3 looks an awful similar to Vega from Street fighter. See if you can find any Vega or Zhang He cosplayers to ask about information regarding claws and whatnot. :)

Just in case you're not convinced, look:

Edit- For the masks, you could always buy one. Only thing is, it may be hard to find a mask like Vega's so get a plain white one and paint the design on there. Although, I can only seem to find masks like this one:

That or you can always try looking at hockey masks to see if you can find any without holes, here's an idea:

You're probably best off getting the "plain white Mask-male" and Doing a little editing. You'll need the noseholes, trust me. As for the mouth hole... a little creativity can cover that up (hot glue thin white cloth over it on the inside) In fact, you can do that for the nose holes, too. It's the last one on the page valgaav_xellos listed (http://www.mccullochs.on.ca/acatalog..._MASKS_39.html). If the shape isn't quite right, that's what sanders are for :D
