Okay...So it's probably way out of my league, but I'm way better with construction than sewing, so we'll see.
I badly want to cosplay one of my World of Warcraft characters, my favorite of which is a night elf, but I've seen way too many of those out there. So my next thought is...Tauren cosplay:eek: . I could make the head/horns easy, I've done something similiar in the past. But the legs...well, cow legs sort of bend funny.
If you don't know what I mean, heres a piccy:http://www.pcgames.com.cn/netgames/zhuanti/wow/image/char/tauren.jpg
yeah. crazy.
The frustrating thing is I saw a fellow who had built legs like that- his own legs were bent at the knees and almost "riding" on these big extensions that ended in hooves. He was at a horror con, and I have no way of contacting him as I didn't even speak to him. Balsac, a member of Gwar, has freaky hooved/bent legs too....
Any ideas? I'm not 100% sure where I would even begin....If I get desperate, I could just make big lower legs/ hooves and wear a costume with a long skirt to hide my humanly legs, but if I could go all out, I'd love to.

Actually, theres a rather recent Blizzard cosplay thread:
http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=83782

And I think I saw a tauren once - it was pretty awesome looking. From Blizzcon photos I think?
With fursuits you can make the illusion your legs are built like that with building up foam correctly.

You could use something like this (picture taken from "underworld"...)

Hehe I love tauren. I know it's kind of a cop out, but you could always do a tauren with a skirt type thing. Like a Shaman or a Druid tauren. That would keep you from having to make the legs, and you can just stick some hooves over your sneakers. I know it's not nearly as cool looking, but it might be more comfortable in the long run.

For the hammer: http://www.steltercreativewoodworks.com/STELTER1/Moldmaking__Cx.html
For the armor I suggest the tutorials of Amethyst-Angel: http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking.html

I figure the same concept could be used for various types of armor. Especially heavy sets.

Possibly. But I'm sure they'd be wicked expensive.

Yeah, but this is a dream cosplay of mine, so I'm willing to pay it. ^^;

For the face, you could also use prosthetics (http://www.northfur.ca/prosthetic_shop.html). They're Canadian, so if you need a border crossing, keep the ordering in mind.

I have to find the tutorial for hooves using heels.

Hot damn. Minus the intense forward slouch (which is probably inevitable), those would make fantastic Draenei legs.
