yey it's good to be back on the forums. anyways i just finished reading the first kare kano (his and her circumstances) and found this odd fascination with it. yukino really annoys me and the plot seemed really sucky at first but then i just kind of got into it. anyone else find this?

hmmmm...i have the anime and the manga - i enjoy them both but i have to agree with you - the plot seems more "thin" in the manga in the beginning - the anime moves faster. however, i guess it's just the difference in the medium - television depicts action and is suppose to intrigue the views and draw their attention whereas mangas expand on character development, plot development, and expressions.

I have to agree with you Setsuna. I have the anime and I'm dying for the manga. . .though I have to collect Kadocha first. I thought it was great, but then again my high school was a lot like that. so . . .

I've seen a couple episodes that my friend has, and even though i didn't really like drama, I kinda feel into watching the anime more. I haven't seen it in a while, but my friend finally got the whole series. He said he would let me borrow it, But the final tape/dvd he has is in raw japanese (no subtitles). So i may just try and get the manga now.

I recently got into the manga. I started getting the shoujo manga magazine Lala (which KareKano runs in) a few months ago. So I only know the very recent chapters (current chapter read: 75; soon to get Lala issue 3/03, then I can read chapter 76.) It's interesting, but confusing. (Perhaps I should just get the first few volumes, ne~? That way I won't be so confused who all the characters are.)

I've heard very good things about the anime, but I have yet to watch it. (I think I have the first couple eps on my comp.) I recently read the second vol of the manga, and even though I think it's a little slow, the characters are sweet and compelling, and based on what I've heard I think it will get better.

I love the anime. It's so cool. One of the best things about it is the unique story telling style. It's not like most anime and I found it charming.
I was surprised that the manga was being released in the US. I must get it! BWHAHAHA! *hurries off to amazon*

So far, I love the Yukino/Arima coupling. But I just hope it doesn't turn too annoying like Miaka/Tamahome in Fushigi Yuugi.

Me neither! It was cute for a little while, but it just got WAY too sappy for me. It's cute now, and I like it the way it is!!!

I love KareKano, but its one of those, hard to catch up anime. That, Kodomo no Omocha, and Excel Saga. Why? The characters speak way too damned fast XD. Plus there's titles EVERYWHERE in Karekano ;-;. So sometimes I have to rewind, which is a bitch on my dvd player, and play it again .

I just started getting into this manga, and at first I found it a bit slow and a little confusing, but it seems interesting and it's also somewhat amusing. I 've heard mostly positive reviews, so I think I'll go ahead and buy the next book. ^_^

Don't worry, Miyazawa-san is the anti-Miaka except that both are rather innocent and can be full of energy when motivated (Miyazawa-san over school, Miaka over pigging out). As such, she's my favorite anime girl. ^_^ Arima is much more human than Tamahome too - he certainly has his flaws, but that's not to say he's not a great guy, of course. ;)

Arima x Yukino is more like a "reality" couple with security issues, parents/family situations....miaka and tamahome is more like the "ideal" relationship where love always prevails...
even though i awed and cooed over miaka x tamahome (i'm a sucker for romance), i think i prefer yukino x arima better because it's easier to relate to and to me, it has more substance to it.
