So, I won't be attending Sakura Con 07 next year, I'm a little :bigcry:
because of it. I have attended both Sakura Con 05 and 06 in the
previous years, but due to a friend of mine who can't get time off
work to go I won't be going either and either are all her friends too.

I am really crushed that I won't be going and I hope whomever is
or does read this post has a good time, either newbie or returner.

If you do have any questions about Sakura Con's history, I'd
be more than happy to discuss about it. :toothy: All I can ask
in return is that someone says hi to voice actor - Vic Mignogna
for me. I met him this year at a con near me and I wish I could
see him again. I hope y'all have a good time for me and have lots
to show and tell about the con. If anything hotel prices are not
too bad if you know which hotel you are staying, I was staying at
the Roosevelt hotel and best place to get cheap food is Subway.

Sorry to bother you, but I'll be going to SakuraCon for the first time in 2007 and I wanted to ask you a few questions since you're from BC as well. ^^
Did you drive down there or take the bus/train?
Do you know what the policy is for taking props across the border?
How much is it to stay at the Roosevelt Hotel compared to other hotels? How far is it from the convention center?
Anything else that I should be aware of?

Thank you so much for your time and sorry for bothering you. ^^;

Yay! not bothering me at all, I was hoping someone would look at
this forum sooner or later. Hey I'll go with you if I can, I mean it too.

Well, my mates and I did drive for the first year, but we found going
by Greyhound is better, it's a 4 hour bus ride(including stops to the
border to check in with customs) The policy for taking props will be
depending on size and if it looks like a weapon it's probably not very
good idea to do so to bring. However some people managed to do so

You know I think it's best to find out from Sakura Con's website about
hotel, I don't really remember but I highly reccomend reading about it.

You should be aware of having a good time and getting food is easy
and convient around Seattle since there are many convience stores
and be sure you bring US money or else Canadian money is going to
drain you quick, you should also be aware that when you return from
Sakura Con and into Canadain customs to be sure you know the interest
rate, as you can only bring so much back into Canada, Any other Q's
for me please forward them to me at cutepoetgirl@hotmail.com and
that is also my msn if you'd like to chat and talk about Sakura Con!

Hope this proves to be most helpful for you. ^_^

PS If you have a friend going with you already be sure to ask
Greyhound about companion fares, I think he/she look into only
paying $50 one way, however going back you'll have to look into.

Do you know anything about your Ouran High School Host Club
costume? such as how to make it or what you did to make it &
the school badge, I want to do a group cosplay of that anime
and I can't seem to fiqure out what to do, I plan to be Hunny,
he's one of my few favorties from there. I just thought I'd be
mentioning it and see if you can help me or maybe suggest. ^_~

Ah! Thank you so much for helping me!
For my Ouran jacket I used Butterick pattern B4138 and just didn't make the front darts. It's pretty easy. ^^
I ended up buying my patches from someone on an Ouran LiveJournal community so I can't really help you with that. ^^;

My friends and I are planning on taking the train down since it will only be $28 each way. I just have a feeling that I should hurry and book a hotel soon before all the cheap ones are taken. ^^;

Wow, thanks for taking the time to write back to me. :) This really
does mean a lot to me, I hope you have fun at Sakura Con and tell
me or write a forum board about it. It's best to book a hotel soon,
as I agree, they do get booked fast. Don't worry about the patch
as I've learned I probably will have to also check out Ebay as well.

Also, I have been getting suggestion from other people who told me
I should try a thrift store, so I might try that as well, browsing won't
hurt. Anyway, if you'd like to chat sometime or meet up, I'd like that
you can add me to msn as: cutepoetgirl@hotmail.com also email me.

'07 will be my first Sakuracon. I'm from the east coast so I'll be taking a plane to get there, but I know a good company that lets you get tickets for cheap.
I'm a bit obsessed with taking pictures so I should have some really good stuff to share too! When I went to Kumoricon, I went with my friend and her boyfriend. I used his digital camera and got over 140 pictures plus what I took on my one use cameras.

Sakuracon is a lot of fun and hotels and buying food is reasonable.
Plus the guest list next year looks really good with Vic Mignonga who
plays Ed from Full metal Alchemist, be sure to check out his panel. ;)
I don't know if he'll be selling his CD's there but if he does, let me
know as it's very worth it when you hear him sing. He's so talented.

I've never heard Vic sing before! Then I'll make sure to take pictures for you!
There's no way I'd miss his panel. My friend is a BIG Vic Mignonga fan. I'm going with her boyfriend and she'd kill us both if neither one of us got her an autograph

Well...be sure to request it when you do. ;) You'll find that Vic is
very spiritual and religious. Not to mention loves to bring up this
famous doughnut story...hehe however a lot of fans also like it
when they hear him confess that Roy Mustang is damn sexy and
it's important to be orginal with your questions. Heck, ask him to
sing Brothers...for that's a song that I think in my mind would be
beautiful to put on CD. You'll definitely want to get more than an
autograph, but a picture. Make no mistake Vic Mignonga IS so sexy.
