It is going to be from 29th Dec to 31 st Dec. I am going to be there on Saturday (Gundam See Destiny or D.Gray-man cosplay, not decided yet!) and on Sunday (as Naruto). Anyone's coming? I would like to meet people there from the community for once! :)

I'm seriously considering it... I just moved to Japan in July and am really excited to go to a convention. Are you going to cosplay? And whereabouts in Japan are you - or are you travelling here for Comiket?

I really hope I will be able to go to Winter Comike. I seriously want to cosplay for the first time in Japan... but not quite sure how that would go. :\

It's not that terribly cold in Tokyo, like if it snows it's slushy snow, but inside the Big Sight it can get pretty warm even if the outside is cold..

1) Yes, I am going to cosplay! On Saturday I make cosplay of Rinali Li of D.Gray-man (the first uniform for who knows XD) and on Sunday I'll be having a NARUTO trio with me as Naruto and my two Japanese friend MIKA and KINTOTO as Sai and Sakura.

2) I'll be in Tokyo from 28th Dec to 28th Jan because studying Japanese language and making contacts for a University related work ^^..

I really hope to meet many people. For who's coming..which cosplay are you going to make?

never went to the winter one, for the summer one, cosplayer have to stand outside in a delimited section (under a blazing sun) I don't know if they use the same section for winter comicket if it's the case might be a bit chilly.

Naruto? that's gotta be the most popular ones those past years with FF ^^

I'm considering Shin from Nana, always wanted to try some bondage style cosplay... Not convince by his hair color on the anime though :/

I'm hoping to go. If I do, I'll be dressed as Kino from Kino's Journey.

I've been always visiting the Summer one. Believe me the umidity was something unbelievble! That's the sad part: you can't try heavy costumes because you could be fall dead in any minute! >__>
The Winter one would be surely more fresh! XD

Ah yes, it has been popular since it came out, I suppose.
In Italy where I live there are many Naruto cosplayers too but there were so many and so similar (same characters) that people got bored at once. In Japan I found it differently: maybe because the comic comes out regulary and has more recent chapters than in my Country the choice of characters is pretty various. And also the characters versions, I met many japanese cosplayers who made the so called "dojinshi" version of the characters. Really cool!

By the way, why don't organize a meeting there for who's coming?
I think it could be a pretty good idea to take some pictures together.

Woot... it looks like my bf will have the time off work!

I'll likely fix up his Vergil (from Devil May Cry 3) costume for Comiket. I originally made it for Anime North (Toronto, Canada) this past summer, it just needs a little tweaking.

As for me, I was Xianghua (second costume - Soul Caliber 3) for the last convention I attended, but want to make a new one for Comiket. I either want to make Lady from Devil May Cry 3 or a Samurai Warriors 2 (Sengoku Musou here in Japan) costume, either Noh or Nene. Lady would match the Vergil - but while my hair is dark, it's too long now so I'd need to get a wig. I'd also have to go with the two small guns rather than the big one, of course. I've just started to play Samurai Warriors and would really like to do a costume from it, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there! Seems like a good way to spend my first New Year's in Japan.

It's a long time from now, but I'm sure I'd like to hang out! My Japanese isn't very good (only been here for two and a half months so far), so I'll be glad to meet other English speakers.

So how many of you are currently residing in Japan?

Just got my work schedule and I'll be able to go. I'll be there on the 29th and 31st. Trying to put togeather the winter uniform from the Patlabor movies. Would be perfect since it's an outside event for the most part.

T.T I wish I can go... But I can't. I think my first cosplay in Japan'll have to wait for the summer Comiket. Hopefully I'll still be able to meet with cosplay.com people then!!!

Let me know if anyone wants to get together for a Cosplay.com member gathering - I'll be there from Dec 28 - Jan 2. I have a lot of stuff going on the 29th but the rest of the trip I'm completely open. :)

I'll keep checking back to see what everyone else thinks. ^_^

Is the size of the winter one smaller or about the same as the summer one?

I hope I can go for the summer comicket coming up.

I'll be there Friday (not in costume), and hopefully in costume Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday. Only four days left until we head down to Tokyo, and I have so much left to do!!! Only one day of work left, though...

Hopefully I'll see you guys there! I'd like to meet up for a little while at least, I probably won't get there until later on Saturday though. Just came to Japan in July, so this is my first Comiket.

I made it on the 29th & 31st... had to work on the 30th ><. The cosplay area was cut small on Friday and actually was quite miserable because we only had half the normal area for the normal amount of people. Very cramped. Sunday was great! The staff even let the cosplay section stay open an hour late. Not to mention good weather.

I even got interviewed by a TV station. Didn't see that coming. I only ran into one other foriegner cosplaying there. which was different from the last time I went, where there were about six of us. Plus spending New Year's in Tokyo was rather rewarding.

My boyfriend and I were there in costume - we ran into a really nice (non-Japanese) girl who was cosplaying, but I can't remember what it was from though. It's too bad we didn't run into the rest of you. We were there for a bit on Friday out of costume, and all day Sunday in costume. We were the Lady and Vergil from Devil May Cry 3, if anyone saw us.

It was a lot of fun, but to be honest, I prefer Canadian cons like Anime North and Fan Expo. There's just so many people, and there's not as much freedom to leave and have a rest in your hotel room or get food without having to take off your costume. Plus I was cold in the outside cosplay area! It was still a great experience though, if we're in Tokyo next year we'll definetly go. It was pretty well everything I was expecting, and it was a good first experience with cosplay in Japan.

Here's my photo album. I'd love to see everyone else's pictures, so please post!!!

PS - Does anyone know where to find Comiket photo albums online? I've looked using search engines and haven't found much yet. I'm wondering if there's a Japanese equivalent to the cosplay.com message boards specifically for people to post links to their photo albums.

I know the feeling I am on of a few American cosplayers that cosplays at British Anime Conventions. I have been interviewed by many UK magazines and websites. I am looking forward to going to winter comiket.
