I am not having a pleasant time trying to figure out how to make this wig look "weightless"!!! Does anyone have an idea as to how I can make the hair look partially "floaty"? I dont expected it to be out to there, but just something that's resemblant, y'know? Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated...thankies! Here's a pic by the way.

I think Nyanko made this one a couple of years ago... she made the hair out of foam! It looked pretty damn awesome.

Check ACP for pics... ^_^

Thanks for the idea ^_^ Hmmm. I never thought about foam before...Would you know how to go about doing this? And what is ACP by the way? ^ ^;

Yes, I agree, a very nicely done wig!!

You could also try some wire hanger and lots of hairspray or glue? ^-^;

Nyankochan's was foam.. ^_^; I'd be mad impressed if someone did it with a real wig. Wire and glue, sure. XD

I just did a similar effect for Cool Mint (Ah! Megami-sama!) using a heat-styling, glue, and hairspray.

It's less hair than Rose, but it is possible.

As for using foam, there's two ways to do it, depending on the level of stiffness you'd like. Nyanko used the stiffer method, where you glue hair fibers directly onto the carved shape. The more flexible way is to use batting as a base, and sew it to the scalp of the wig. Then you pull the hair back over the batting to form your shape.

I hope this helps a bit. Good luck with your costume! ^_^

Thanks, Kate! That'll at least give me a place to start from you know?

I was thinking about to glue and wire thing, and I'm ghetto enough to do it ^_^
