Hey, my boyfriend and I want to cosplay as Gordon Freeman and Alyx from Half life 2. I have basic sewing skills and pattern modification skills, that's no problem...the problem lies in the materials that the costumes will need. Here, I'll provide a picture of each character:

As for gordon's suit, I really doubt I have the budget to use full on plastic sheets nor the skill to put it together. Anyone have any suggestion on materials, pvc, pleather?

For Alyx's costume, notice the "tape" on the left shoulder. Should I get grey fabric and sew it on, or use actual tape? It would look better to use tape in my opinion, but for anyone who might not have played the game...well, it would just look bad. Also, the jacket at the elbows...should I make an actual jacket and roll it at the sleeves, or cut it as shown, I can't tell in the game or in pictures if it ends there or is rolled up.

If anyone has ever seen a half life 2 cosplayer, please refer me to some pictures, would greatly appreciate it!

I've seen Gordon Freeman done by two different people. I was about to link you to Norumu's gallery, but I see your comment on his picture already. I can't find the second Freeman costume.

You should definitely use duct tape on Alyx's shoulder.
