Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Morning Musume (and their many sub-groups), Maaya Sakamoto... actually, just go to www.japan-a-radio.com (or is it www.japanaradio.com ? Can't remember). They play J-Pop 24-7.

Well, if you like Garbage, a lot of Kokia and Aiwaka Nanase songs can really relate to their music. Also Cocco, Tef Tef, and Olivia. -^-^-

Some of the listed groups aren't female, Yuna Summoner.. ^^;

In addition, I can reccommend "the brilliant green".. Hayashibara Megumi, Okui Masami, hiro.. and Max.

A lot of J-pop is dance/pop sounding.. but groups/singers like the brilliant green, Judy and Mary, and Aikawa Nanase might be more to your taste.

Hmm BoA....No.1 is good and so is Valenti. She's kinda like Asia's Britney Spears *ducks from flying objects* except with more clothes. Her voice has improved though, but her songs all sound similar.

oh and as for jpop songs, try Tommy February6, Misia, Onitsuka Chihiro, Asuka Hayashi (this girl does NOT sound 13!!!)

Yeah! I fully endorse TMR, too. If you like one song, you'll like them all (but there's enough variety for interest still.) I have to admit that I don't have too much j-pop (as opposed to my stash of j-rock or piles of game soundtracks), but I listen to him a lot - probably one of my most likely to play while cosplay constructing...you just feel so inspired to work for some reason. I'd recommend the progress album for some of the best songs.
