Hello,
Just wanted to start spreading the word on our upcoming tour. Anime tour for the cure to be specific. It's a non profit event set to benefit the Susan B Komen Breast Cancer foundation on January 13-14,2007. The event will be held at the Cashman Center in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada.

We will be amongst other things, screening over 1000 anime titles over the course of the weekend. And I just genuinely would like to see you out there. It's a great event, and for a good cause.

Also while I have the captive audience I wanted to personally thank
Richard Stott of Anime Vegas. Rich is an all around great guy and has been very helpful in the planning aspect of this event. Helping me get floor plans done, contacting vendors, and getting guests.

I will be checking back here regularly to see any suggestions or comments any of you might have. So please feel free to let me know anything on your mind.

My hubby and I will be attending! I really love how this con is for charity. I hope to see many Cosplay.com members there! Now I need to decide which costumes I want to take with me. This will be the very first convention I am traveling by air versus car. Should be an adventure!

It's the ol' "Whenever I leave town, something cool I'd want to see happens!" thang!

Also major kudos to Rich S.! :japan:

The quilt store where I work also had a sew-in to benefit the S.B.K. Breast Cancer Foundation: We made quilts that will be auctioned on eBay to raise money. Now pondering how much an anime quilt raffle for your event would raise.

An Anime Quilt Fund Raiser, well at least it sounds original :bigtu: . I just wanted to take a moment out to say I look forward to seeing as many of you out there as possible. The way Rich rants about you guy's I'm excited to meet you.

I'm going to try and make it to a LVO screening before the event so I can get a chance to say hello in person. I also wanted to give you all the heads up. I plan on adding a Sumo Suit Tournament complete with a ChampionShip Belt. I just love watching people in those outfits, it's a great way to have some decent fun.

Anyways, before this turns into a Plug for the event. I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words and again I look forward to meeting you.

If an anime quilt isn't possible between now & January, perhaps a nice one done with oriental themed fabrics? Not sure if you'd get more people with something more japanese generic or with specific anime characters on it. You'd need to corral an artist or two willing to draw on the fabric.

Perhaps a gaint quilt? One that's added on to at every stop of the tour? I don't know. But I do love the idea. If I ever figure it out I will let you know.

Thats is an excellent idea, I myself have drawn on a quilt and auctioned it off as an anime quilt for a fundraiser!

Hm.... Thinking out loud: Perhaps you could have the quilt top ready with some blank squares and have artists at each tour stop draw one? (I'd recommend Fabrico/Tsukineko ink markers) Raffle off the chance amoung the artists to be on the quilt, then also raffle off the finished quilt? Drawing on the quilt after it's been quilted & bound might be trickier that working on just the top; if someone goofs, it'll be there forever. Another alternative is using printer fabric= can run it through an inkjet printer, then rinse out extra ink and sew it into the quilt. Not copywrite images, but scanned art that the artist's alley folks have drawn.

Many ideas...

to the person that uses the username 'AnimeFF' here: you're a dirty rotten liar, a crook, and probably one of the most despicable people i have ever heard about.

to steal the money of so many people, and even to say that you would donate all the proceeds to cancer research when you havent; how dare you commit a awful crime like this.

I hope they find you, and arrest you for what you have done, you and everyone in connection with you that took part in this scam. I hope you pay.
