My parents pay for my subcriptions (Raijin, Shonen, SuperManga Blast) but I pay for most of the books. Buy MARS and LoveHina!!! They're really good! ^_^

My parents don't buy me any of my manga - once in a while they give me money to buy merchandise, but never any manga O_o;

Ha. I WISH my parents bought me my manga. I have to pay for a good chunk of my stuff. My dad used to buy me everything I wanted but then he ran out of money XD so now it's up to me!

A lot of the time, if my dad and I are in Japantown to eat, I'll bug for at least one manga that trip.. since they're only $5ish. ^^ That's how I got most of my collection.
But when my mom gives me $20 for when I go out with friends, if I make it to Jtown, I'll just buy four new books. XD; I've only done that once so far, though..

I'm hoping I get this job... lots of new manga for Michi. ^____^

I've bought mine ever since my first Sailormoon graphic novel... and I've bought my SMILEs and Animericas as well. Most of the things that I have a deep interest for I buy myself, unless I'm really low on cash; then I save it up then buy it anyway :D

I buy my own books, videos, art supplies....
I have a really good job $__$
I don't like other people buying me stuff. :spinner:

I tend to save up money that my mom gives me and tyhen I buy it myself...so it's half and half. I've spent well over $1,500 over the past few years on manga, magazines, artbooks, etc. I'm running out of book shelves and money. ;.; I suppose this is where a job might come in handy =P

I've paid for all of my manga (exept for Inu Yasha #1 because it was a gift).
I save my money and pick up one or two every time I go to the Chinatown in Seattle. Sometimes my friend will get me stuff in Japan when she goes. I give her money of course. ^ ^

Sometimes I borrow from friends or the library.

I'm a manga freak:D

All of mine were bought and paid by me. Kind of scary looking at them and thinking how much money I have spent on them.

I always buy my own manga. I do not want anybody to buy my manga for me. But then again, I'm an adult, so I live on my own and buy my own things. If my parents want to help me out, I will not let them. ^_^ They already did enough for me when I was younger.
But it's no wonder why I am so poor at times. I spend quite a bit on manga. Whenever I'm in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles...forget it! I cannot get out of Kinokuniya without spending less than $150 or more. (They just have so much at Kinokuniya. Not only that, I suscribe to those shoujo manga magazines from them every month). I should spend less, but I can't help it, the manga talk to me and want me to take them home with me. -_-* Oh yeah, and then there is Marukai, where I can buy Pooooocccckkkyyy. :)

The only ones I've bought where Sorceror Hunters, but I paid for them my self. I like them better than the anime actualy... just wish Chocolate would keep her clothes on.

I don't have any yet, but I borrow A LOT from my friends. I depend on my friends for anime/manga, and they depend on me for videogames. It's always like that. But If I had the money I would like to buy/collect them, especially Mars. I love that manga! Once I have my real job I would probably buy them like crazy, but thats like 7 years from now.. :(

Most of the manga I've read was borrowed from the library o_0 It's strangely a pretty good source for manga... you can't be too picky though; just check out what they have. That's how I got interested in Blade of the Immortal ^-^

Besides the library, my friends and I let each other borrow our manga. My last source would be me; I have only bought two manga (and one of them was basically free since it was a gift certificate) with my own money.

Book Off (used Japanese bookstore) in NYC is my friend. Everytime I got there I walk out with bags full of manga and a wallet that's still full. Most of the stuff is in Japanese but they've started to expand their english section recently.

wait !! you forgot the option of neither you or your parents or your friends buying manga: you just read it at the bookstore like a cheap bum!! XDDD

I've always bought my own and always will buy my own. My parents never bought me any, I wish, but I get most of my books from Japan so, heh, they don't know anything about that kind of ordering. I like to buy my own though. Mars, Wish, Chobits, Rurouni Kenshin, Shadow Lady, those are my favs so far. Magical Girls is pretty interesting too. ^^

I buy my own. I was going to subscribe to Shonen Jump but never got around to it. I would subscribe to Raijin but they have a hefty price tag, since it comes out WEEKLY...but with like weekly reports and stuff. =sigh= And I am going to subscribe to Newtype eventually.

It's all just a money issue. There are anime series I have to continue collecting and then the manga...if I bought like 2 books and 2 dvd's a week taht'd be like 60 something a week...and we're so tight on money it just doesn't really happen. But oh well. Soon things will be better. I'm just waitin for my tax return check! :D

I think I conveniently forgot to mention that.. 9_9' Oh well! I only had enough money to buy 2 manga (yes.. that's my manga collection). Since they don't have everything at the library I read a little at the bookstore o_0

My parents pay for everything but my anime. shiku shiku.
Thankfully...I have money. However, it's in the bank, and I am lazy to take money out....heh heh heh...I always have my parents do it for me.

I get money for my birthday, Christmas, etc. However, my parents refuse to feed my anime obsession in any way whatsoever, so they won't buy me any anime or manga. So I use that money I technically may have gotten from them, but it's also technically mine, but anyway I use that money to buy my own manga. My parents then say "Why do you want to buy COMIC BOOKS?! Ugh..." Then they leave me in the store. ^_^;; That's why I now go with my FRIENDS to get manga. That way, we can buy them and borrow them from each other. But so far there is only one manga I've borrowed from someone and read. Oh...and I bought my friend a manga for Christmas, but read it before I gave it to her. ^_^;;; Heh...does that count as borrowing?
