Does anyone know where I can find a good source for Hellsing Institute patches, need some for a soldier costume i'm working on, saw one on eBay but after bidding up to $20/12 on it I decided there must be a better way, can anyone help?

I'm sorry to say it like this but good luck. When I needed to get my hands on some the ebay ones were like gold. I drew up a sketch of the patches and shopped a few embroidery houses and got 1 of 2 Answers. 1 We can't do it for less than 50 patches, 2 We will not do it if its based on a copyrighted material. So in the end I made some with my sewing machine using a wide zig zag stitch. Felt is a popular option and I've even seen small wooden plates painted to resemble patches. However another option (possibly the best) is find a local granny or auntie with an embroidery machine and a digitizer and try to get them to make a few patches for you.
If you want to see what some results may be. There are a few pic in my gallery of the patches I made.

Drat, now i've bid up to £20 on eBay for one but been outbid (again) and i'm not paying more than that for a simple patch! Looks like i'll have to bide my time, and keep working on my RPD load out instead!

Can anyone on the site make them, i don't mind paying above odds for decently quality patches. I'd rather pay more than not have them at all, looking to get two!

Leadmill,

Over here, every January we have a tradition. It's called tax time and it's when the government gives back the amount they overcharged for taxes withheld over the year, a concept you're probably unfamiliar with seeing as they don't tax payroll where you live.

Anyway, when I get my tax return, which is quite hefty this year, I'm buying an embroidery machine (a computer controlled sewing machine for embroidery). When that happens, I'll be experimenting with patches. Assuming you haven't found something by March, contact me and I'll see what I can do.

As a stopgap measure though you might look for a patch of the royal standard to use until you can find a real reproduction of the hellsing shield.

Use iron on transfers.

I can send you a high res scan/picture of the patch which when printed on white iron on transfer paper, looks very nice.

I use it on all of my cosplays for Hellsing, and it looks great. <3

Hey thank you for the advice, going to have a look around and see if I can find some Standard patches now and see if I can use them as a stop gap, we have something a little similar in this country its called a tax rebate but mines never much! If I havn't found a source of patches by march i'll definatly be in touch ^^

You could always go the rout of having 50 made and then sell the rest on eBay afterwards. *shrug*

I made that about 2 years ago, it turned out a bit dodgy but if you are interested I can improve the design.

get it custom embroidered, that is what we will be doing. Sure it seems a little costly but if you want to go all out, right? Iron-on transfers are the cheaper alternative unless you have an embroidering machine, then I recommend patience and a lot of practise ;)

Hello, I know this post was back in 2006 lol, but you wouldn't happen to have that HIGH RES image of the patch would you? :O

There are some cheap Hellsing patches available on ebay.

They are iron on transfers but applied to a proper fabric patch with overclocked edges and designed to give it a pseudo-embroidered look. They can be sewn onto any uniform for added realism.

I know this is an older thread, but anybody know of any recent places to get patches?

A black-and-white version seems to be available HERE (http://www.hlj.com/product/CSP34941) or HERE (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/goods/goods_detail.html?KEY=NEOGDS-10049), though it is currently out of stock.

ebay is worth checking; there's nothing there at the moment, but things change. For example, this seller (http://cgi.ebay.com.my/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250418813346) had some.

There are several places online selling a hat with the patch on it. If you're willing to fork out the money for it, I suppose you could cut the patch off the hat.... example (http://www.fastfoodanime.com/?page=product&item=hellsing-hat-2268)

But the best option seems to be printing one out and ironing it on. Ie, make your own, without the embroidery.....

Managed to find this and its relativly updated.

Black and white, and cutting out are fine, however, I'm looking for top of the line, making it look like an actual uniform. Ebay doesn't have squat on it and after surfing google for countless hours for the Halconnen instructions and Hellsing patches, I always end up on a forum post here.

EDIT: after looking at those black and whites, they are wrong. The writing and the chess peice should be switched.

Con time must be coming up, since I've been getting a sudden influx of new orders. In case anyone is looking, I still have the Hellsing-shield cosplay patches for sale! My deviantart (http://melitza03.deviantart.com/)has a pic, or the expired ebay listing (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320443983910&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123) has a few more - they go for $6.95/ea and a flat $5.95 S&H for however many. If you're interested, email me the quantity to mail_milli_now@yahoo.com, and I'll email you back a Paypal invoice. I ship out within a day of the invoice clearing!

Hope the cosplaying goes well! I wear on regular day-to-day jackets and have been pleasantly surprised by the number of people who recognize the affiliation!

I've been looking as well and the cheapest thing I could find were these wristbands, http://www.amazon.com/Hellsing-Emblem-Wristband/dp/B0019BLVHA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322867916&sr=8-1

The picture looks a little wonky but it seems to be the same stock photo on every single website so I'm not sure if it will come out that way. But I haven't had any luck finding the patch itself so most likely I am just going to order 2 of these as they are cheap and just cut the patches off. I know they aren't amazing, but they are readable and unless you get super close they will probably look pretty legitimate.

I knew I'd seen them for sale somewhere!

^^ This person makes and sells them. I don't know if they're still doing it but the patch is very accurate. As of January 2010 they were selling them for $6.95 each and a flat rate of $5.95 for S&H. It's worth a shot...
