View Full Version : References for Princess Zelda costume?

Does anyone have a clue as to where I find some nice quality pictures of Zelda, front and back (color would be nice, but not required)? I'm doing her standard princess dress for Halloween - her as an adult, not a child. If you have any pictures of her on your HD that you think could help, please post them as attachments! If it's on the web, please provide a link. If you can help, I would really appreciate it - Thanks! :bouncer:

Which version? From one of the games? From the anime?
Did you try a google search?

I tried google, and all I got was fanart and those ghetto - nintendo video game screenshots.
Basically, the version I want is either from Zelda 64 (Zelda V), or the Zelda from Oracle of Time / Ages (Zelda VII & VIII). But the adult version! I only seem to find the child version... *cries*. I'll continue looking, but help is appreciated!
The costumes (young and adult) are suprisingly similar. You may end up just having to play that part of the game again, taping it, and pausing it. That's what I had to do to get details on the grown up Malon. My colors were a bit off, but I was able to get all the essential details from the many images of the little version of her. The only thing that changed was that she got a belt and an actual skirt. So I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to piece together the adult version from the little clues...
Ok.. not helpful at all. I know.
If you really want an ok picture have you tried the Super Smash Brothers stuff? I'm 90% positive that the version of Super Smash Brothers for Game Cube has an adult Zelda and Sheik as playable characters. I know she's pictured in the little book that comes with it. She should also be pictured in the guide books... more so than in the Zelda guidebooks because she's a playable character in SSB. Probably full body images. Probably with some detail.
She's also drawn into a little medley painting on the inside cover of the Zelda64 soundtrack CD. I'd scan it for you, but I just loaned it to some one. When she gets back into town in two days, if you still need it, I'll post it.

GIVE IT UP!!
....No such thing exists. I'm serious.
Well ok, there is ONE drawing of Adult Zelda from Ocarina of Time, but it's like they tried to keep it a secret or something. The biggest drawing I've seen of her is about two inches tall... and all the scans online are very poor quality (and near impossible to find). Ask Michi, she has a scan that is ok. And Child Zelda will not help you at all -- the only thing that is the same is her belt, and the shape of the bird on her banner (which you can also get off Link's Hylian shield).
Your best bet is to get her trophies in Smash Bros Melee and then just sit there and stare at them (from all angles!). Granted you have access to SSBM of course X_x but that is the only good reference that exists... and it's excellent *_*

Hmmm...a friend of mine used a Japanese Smash Bros strategy guide for reference. Cait is probably right... maybe the American guide has a good polygon shot of her?

Oh, I was going to say, I forgot, I have the Gameboy designs for Zelda... but it looks like Tashi Kione already posted it ^_^ It's basically like a simplified version of the OoT Adult Zelda, with a cape. It actually helped me a lot in getting the general style and proportions (since I did my costume before SSBM was out X_x *dies*)
Oh and... heh... one other thing I might mention... the earrings are different depending on what picture you look at, and the piping on the collar is magenta in the designs, and gold in-game... so I guess those are merely a matter of preference ^_^'
Good luck on the costume ^o^

Bingo! If you have SSBM, just go into the Trophies, and there you go, a full 3D model of Zelda viewable at every angle. It's perfect!

The 3D Zelda models on SSBM are going to be my best friends when I start work on OoT Zelda. Yessss. *_*
