I actually really enjoy being in Kabuto’s outfit. XD It’s very comfortable. I didn’t enjoy picking out a decent color for his costume. >_<

The pants were made from the same pattern for pants I’ve been using lately, capri-ish and with an elastic waistband. I tend to use it for ninja costumes – I wonder what that says about, well, ninjas. XD So, nothing special there. The undershirt was just a tee-shirt from Wal-Mart, because I’m lazy like that and it’s just a white shirt. The overshirt was made from an altered shirt pattern with a hand-drafted collar pattern for the collar. Interfacing is my friend.

The gloves are a bit ghetto and the shoes are excessively ghetto and the backpouch is the most ghetto thing I’ve ever done. XD The waist wrap, not so ghetto – it was from the same basic design as my cummerbund pattern I drafted for Daniel, and made from muslin since it seemed like the closest color. I used the same for the leg wrap, which is actually one piece folded and pressed to look wrapped, and is stitched to the pants, namely so I can easily tell which leg is which and not risk losing the piece. XD The leg pouch is made from an old glasses case that opens at the top, spray painted black.

The gloves are only half-formed. Running low on time, I opted not to make each finger hole and because they were meant to be proper gloves, I didn’t get a chance to stitch along the edge of the thumb hole, though I did turn down the edge going around the fingers. For the moment, the metal pieces are sharpied in – I plan to attach actual metal in the future and between now and then paint it with silver fabric paint. The shoes are made from sandals painted blue and blue socks. I used a lot of glue and two pairs of socks, to make the fold over at the toes more finished looking. The top is puffed out by a piece of cardboard with cotton glued to it, the sock rolls over it so I can take it on and off as needed. The socks were then tacked and glued onto the sandals, but one has already broken and both are losing paint, so I’m probably going to buy a pair. I’m also gonna replace the backpouch, because right now it’s my Wii Legend of Zelda CD case spray-painted tan on the back and safety pinned on.

The wig and I are not that fond of each other. It’s a bit too small and cheap, so it looks unnaturally shiny. I hope to invest in a good wig a better color soon. I might also buy some better glasses – but right now, it’s kind of nice to just grab my glasses, through them on, and say “hah, I’m Kabuto.” The headband is from Hot Topic and, though it’s the wrong color and from, well, Hot Topic, I don’t think that’s changing any time soon.

Besides all that, I also need to work on my smirks. I’m too smiley for my own good.
