Description

I love this costume. Ah the joy of Gankutsuou.

The fabric for the coat was originally a plain solid color and I painted ALL the designs on it with acrylics. I'm really bad at painting so I'm quite proud of the end results on this.

I had a lot of fun selecting fabrics for this costume as it was the first time I got to chose fabrics that were not just a solid color. Finally had an excuse to buy some batiks and patterned calicos.

The hat was made by creating the design out of very thin poster board which I attached together and then sewed the felt piece which then covered the poster board base.

I also made my friend's Franz costume that was made to match with me. I'm quite proud of that one as I was extra careful to make the designs match up on the jacket to the sleeves, from the jacket to the pants, etc. I did that with my sleeves as well though it was a bit difficult thinking of which angle the designs should be at (since they move in the anime whenever the character moves XP).
