Description

Kouga is my favourite character from Inuyasha and I needed a really quick, simple costume for Midlands. Put the two together and we have a costume!

Being one of my earlier costumes this was a very poor attempt. Definitely a costume I hope to remake. The "armour" was actually constructed with a t-shirt from Primark as a base and I sewed polycotton over it, it was fairly tight as well so it acted as my binding too lol! I had heard about making armour from foam however I had no idea how nor did I know of the existent of craft foam so fabric armour it was.

The straps were made from ribbon and some strange chord thing (even now I don't know what it is) which were sewn onto the costume. The shoulder pads were sewn onto the starps and laid there.

The skirt was pretty much just a panel of fabric sewn together with a waistband. It's ever so stretchy so I can take it on and off and there's a piece of ribbon to keep it together (much like in the reference).

Leg warmers and arm warmers were simply made with a panel of fabric, the leg warmers had ribbon to keep them in place.

Finally I wrapped bandages around my feet, not accurately but close enough. I had bought a headband however I forgot to wear it for photos, oops! The hair is my own as well because it's just as long however I didn't have a fringe.

In the future I hope to remake the top so that it's more armour like and then rewear for better photos! (I have a fringe now as well so I'm hoping to make good use of it - my hair is also longer. It used to be waist length and it's even longer now, yeaaah!)
