Jem has served two purposes; one, to bring to life one of my childhood heroes. Two, I wanted a costume that was easy to wear.

I got both!

Jem's costume is based off of the original doll, which I've had in my ownership for quite a few years. Made out of scary, shiny, pink material, I've been mistaken for a drag queen a couple of times in it. I don't know whether to be pleased (because I was successfully outrageous) or afraid (because I'm far from a drag queen!).

Of all of my "repair retirements", this one is the one that I can completely blame on my own foolishness and not on failing construction..I spilled something on it and whatever it was dissolved the shiny coating on a big chunk of the fabric.
