I know that the comic/cartoon is not terribly popular in America, but I find it charming. I love the bright, garish colors used in the character designs.

The skirt was a challenge because of a) the heart-shaped cutout around the navel, b) I'd never put in a zipper before, c) it was my first time using darts, and d) I chose possibly the worst fabric possible to work with (crepe, it frayed everywhere even after liberal amounts of Fray Check). Putting in the zipper was easier than I expected, but the rest was a total PITA. I'm not entirely pleased with my results- the skirt pulls oddly around the front. But the cutout looks good. I got a very amusing sunburn from it at AX. XD

The top was a bought turtleneck that I attempted to alter. I need to go back and redo the front so it angles up a bit like /\ under the bust. They way it is now, going straight across, isn't very flattering. Once I redo that, it should be a little more form-fitting and make me look less chunky.

The tights also weren't completely successful. I painted the stripes on myself since I couldn't find any factory-made ones that had wide enough stripes. The color turned out blotchy and uneven.

The wings I thought were going to be the hardest part, but compared to the issues I ran into with the other pieces, they were pretty easy. Just a lot of cutting with an x-acto knife.
