NOT MY REAL HAIR. I would stab somebody before I dyed it blonde. >_< I was asked *multiple* times during NDK if it was real (even my close friends o_O). It's a wonderful Sepia wig, though (don't remember the model, but I'll look that up).
I'm *reaaally* not happy with the body of the kimono- I screwed up measurements for the front panels so everything is skewed around that. So whenever I re-do this outfit I'll tear out the collar and sleeves and build around those. :P
Complaints aside: the stripes on the kimono and hakama weren't *nearly* as abnoxious to sew in as I expected. All but the bottom stripe on the hakama are ribbon.
Both the hakama and kimono are the same type of fabric that I got when Hancock Fabrics was going out of buisiness: this wonderful 65/35% stiff poly/cotton blend that I have yet to find anywhere else.
The sash is re-enforced with 3mm craft foam and the stripes were hand-painted on. The orange also had to be custom mixed because nobody sells orange fabric paint. >_> Same goes for the polka dots on the fake inner collar.
The swords were bought on Halowe'en clearance and modified from there. Re-wrapped the hilt, spray painted the guards, and added shinies to the 'sharp' end. I also chopped 2 inches off the left sword and sheath.
