Open-chest binding! Wh0000! I also padded my hips because they're girly and wide- found some old seat foam and carved that down. That took SO much less than I expected to- each pad is only ~3" high.
The unitard was bought online (95/5% cotton/lyrica); I switched the back and used it for the front since that's where the main seam was. Sleeve ruffles were hand-sewn on (which is a big deal for me because I can't STAND hand sewing), and the socks were halfway sewn on, then I gave up and glued them the rest of the way. :P
The sleeve poofies were a test of trial and error. I was finally happy enough with my third try to go on. Triangles of purple and pointed rectangles of black. All are enforced with wire hot glued to craft foam (so you don't see WIRE supporting them)
Both the mask and kakugane are craft foam (starting to see a trend here? XD). The mask is also a third-attempt item. x_x I suck at making things small enough and symmetrical at the same time. Ridges are caused by fabric paint and shinieness is caused by clear spray paint.
Kakugane was one of those last minute 'crap I knew I forgot something!' things and was completed the night before NDK. :P Fun with modeling paint and soldering irons (to emboss it).
