Description

Well, as might be expected, a good chunk of the costume was already made, and the information for it can be found in my original Kabuto Yakushi costume profile. The only additions for Time Jump/Kabuchimaru were the make-up and cape.

The cape - well, I really hope it's actually the right color. There's the problem with little-seen manga characters... there's no way yet of knowing what color that cape actually is. It was made in two pieces, and was originally held together by spaced tacking on, but now by snaps. The black stripes are the zippers. The snaps give me room to put out my arms when needed, and I can easily bring my arms back in. The cape is entirely double-layered for strength, but not all too hot, actually. I'm hoping to put a length of thread in the hood so I can hold it over half my face more easily.

The makeup was fun to do. Note the sarcasm. It was my first time putting on that much makeup by myself, and it took a lot of trial and error day of wearing the costume. I meant to use my own water-based makeup, but I didn't have enough for that costume and my Sweet costume the following day, so I used my friend's oil-based for it. The white went down one side of my face, down to the neck, and all the way up my arm. The purple around the eye actually was the hardest and was redone many, many times. The black lines were done with eyeliner pencil - I considered doing something to actually make my skin harder to appear that way, like latex, but I actually think this way works better. Soon, I'll also have a yellow contact to further the illusion.

I think I like being normal Kabuto more, especially since more people recognize it, but this even crazier version of Kabuto has its merits and is a ton of fun.
