Description

Kaiba was actually probably one of my easiest costumes in a good long while. It was nice to do something that didn't have a hundred details to get right or an impossible design to bring to life. It was also done more by my Gramma than me, since I was busy with life at the time.

I actually made this because of a mistake I made in the CosWorx sale. I wanted a white Punky wig (and still do ._.), but clicked on a green Cindy instead. I didn't think I could return it, so I was about to just go to eBay when I realized who I could do. I think it helps that I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged at the time.

So, let me get it out of the way right now. "Screw the rules, I have green hair!"

The outfit was pretty simple. There are actually two pairs of pants, because the duck fabric we used didn't cover like it ought to have, so I wear "lining" pants that were made in about an hour underneath. The top was the same pattern as Zoicte, but with the overlap in a different place. Gramma machine stitched the yellow ribbon in place (damn all if I was hand-sewing all that, like we usually would have), and I sewed in nine snaps to keep it closed. I also painted the collar, but found I had a lot less rooms than Kaiba did (long neck FTL), so mine's a simplified version. And, well, the shoes were from Wal-Mart, and I think that's it for the outfit itself.

I had a lot of fun cutting in the bangs and spiking the crap out of them. I still need to cut down the rest of the hair - I'm paranoid to, so I've just been spraying and bobby-pinning for now. I really love how the wig looks, but it has some major cons, dealing with my physical comfort. The spiky bangs like to try gouging my eyes out, and the wig is ridiculously tight. As I type this, it's been over 24 hours since I took it off after wearing it for a con day, and I still have deep red lines were it was on my forehead and just brushing against it hurts like hell. I'm actually really fond of my random props, namely my massive old school Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and my orange. It totally represented Kaiba's lost kind heart in a later episode, so I needed to carry one. I would up contact juggling it by the end of the day. I need a few more next time. =D

Ahhh, easy costume. It's nice to have them once in a while. The worst part about it? It's white, and I wore it the day after wearing pink bodypaint. D: The inside collar needs to be bleached like whoa.
