Description

I adore this character, he makes me laugh to no end so I thought it'd be fun to cosplay a joke character for once!

Boots: Buckram and pleather with gold enamel painted details, row of hook and eyes on inner leg as joins. Craft foam raised details. (Thank you to MangaChild and Ailsachan who helped me out with this!)

Trousers: Made stencils and sprayed the design on the fabric, underneath trousers are a pair of cycling shorts with rolls of stuffing attached to them to make the outer cloth swell over the top.

Headress: (Not in the order I did it!) Chicken wire dome lined with felt and paper pulp on the outside smoothed with sandpaper and unibond. Theres a lot of lead in the front to push the weight forward and balance it. Sun Ray shape cut out of plywoor and mounted on the back of the dome with wire punched through it. Then with a lot of maths involved worked out the paper patterns for the pyramid shapes on the plywood, glued those down. Front cap and side frills all madE of craft foam again with a lot of pattern cutting and working out, peak is made out of plastic sheet. Whole thing then sprayed and bits of it hand painted.....PHEW!

Chest Plate: Did this while wearing binding. Cut up an old waistcoat to shape and fitted. Copied its patterned onto buckram, cut these out and attached them to the waistcoat. Attached rib like shapes out of buckram over the main chest area. Then glue gunned pleather over the entire thing, pushing it into the gaps between the ribs.

Necklace: Paper and glass beads threaded onto bead wire. The amulet was made out of polystyrene backed onto mounting card. Smaller beads looped round it. Varnished it all then spray painted

Shoulder Armour: Paper template, then cut it out in buckram. Covered each section in craft foam, then glue gunned it all together. Sprayed the whole thing black. Spent 6 episodes of 'shipwrecked' painting on gold enamel details! Stitched front corners onto waistcoat with fishing line.

Shoes: Used soft slippers as under shoe. Baught long brown fur and combed it flat, using hair spray. Cut out the pattern of the shoe from the brown fur and stitched it onto the slippers. Then used hair mousse to flatten the hair down and keep it a bit more solid.

Facial Hair: Paper templates, copied these in latex, stole some of my mums hair and pain-stakingly stuck little sections of it onto the latex. Once all was dry I trimmed it. Attaching it with spirit gum.

Belt: Consists of belt, leg armour, skirt and front flap! Armour and belt made out of craft foam, spray painted with enamel details. I had to spray on the design for the skirt same as i did for the trousers, then pleat it and attach it to the inside of the belt. Front flap is leather with black spray to create the tiger skin pattern. Has a rop running along the front that ties under the belt.
