WHY DID I MAKE THIS COSTUME:
we decided to make one of the pirate Rum Party nights a "cursed pirate" theme night. So I did facepainting for both me and my boyfriend to make us look undead. The costume that I wore was the same Elizabeth costume, but for half of the night I was wandering around with a noose around my neck.
HOW DID I MAKE THE COSTUME:
Photo references for this costume were found on costumersguide.com. I used a linen look fabric for the shirt, which was lightly tea-stained for a semi-aged look. The pants were actually just an old pair of huge slacks that I cut down and resized. The vest was by far the msot difficult, since it is handstitched and fully lined. I hand stitched the striped pattern on the back of her vest, using plain black embroidery threads. The front of the vest is a rose print upholstery fabric. The hat was handmade out of black craft felt and shredded and sandpapered. The boots are an old pair of medieval boots that I have had forever. The wig was purchased online and altered for length and style. The facepaints are Snazaroo brand, which are a proffessional brand of clown/facepaitning makeup.
