Description
Client wanted a Wonder Woman costume that would work for a larger size. Instead of a bikini bottom, client requested high cut shorts. Instead of a fitted bodice, client requested flares at bottom. Client also requested a separating zipper down the front. There is another piece that goes with this outfit - a stars and stripes jacket (instead of Wonder Woman's cape). Client requested the jacket so that she can wear it on stage as a cover up, and remove it to reveal the costume underneath.
Although I had a fun time working with the top and doing the gold eagle applique, I really loved the fact that Alexandria (client) used roller skates with the costume! She uses this for stage performances, and when she comes out on those roller skates, it is definitely a sight to see!
The shorts took the least amount of time. Beyond putting an invisible zipper in the back and making sure the star pattern matched, the shorts were pretty easy.
Also the most enjoyable part, the eagle applique was the most difficult task. It is made from two pieces of gold fabric, stitched together, turned inside out, pressed, and then top stitched onto the bodice. The fabric didn't take to heat very well, so I had to be extra careful when pressing it.
