I think the most difficult part of making this costume was the coat. I decided to go all-out and make the thing from wool. So then came the difficult task of getting all the right colours of wool. I probably spent over 200 on just the materials for the coat and spats. I wanted to get the colours as closely as I could so that they wouldn’t clash. I ended up even colouring in certain lines on the orange plaid so they would be black and not blue.. by hand.. with a dye pen. The pockets are HUGE and lined with wool so as to be nice and warm.
