Going for a simple costume for this year's UCLA Anime Club cosplay group (Pokemon-human hybrids). Since I didn't have that much time, I decided to go for a simple trainer costume while the rest of the group did the Pokemon. And it was very fitting since the masquerade skit needed a trainer.

The vest is made by MarshmellowMog and UzumakiRamen (thanks a bunch!) while I modified the beret and made the scarf from scratch. Since my sewing machine was acting wonky, I had ended up hand-sewing just about the entire scarf.

Unlike last year, my role in the masquerade skit does not involve choreographed dancing (though dancing's always fun), but I still had a lot of fun as the trainer who likes his balloons a lot. We did not anticipate a large reaction from the crowd since we thought the song (DBSK's "Balloons") was not well known to the general anime fandom, but man did we get a huge pop when the group started dancing.
