This was my fist costume with an extensive wig and prop. It was also my first costume where I had to sew everything from scratch.
My boyfriend made the first sword. He drafted it from a specific picture, so it's proportions are accurate for my size. It's hard to find a consistant size of the sword because it seems different depending on the picture you look at, so we just picked the one we liked the best. The sword itself is made from insulation foam and bondo (Bondo is a nightmare to work with!).
I decided to attempt to make the sword split in two for my re-make. This time I made the sword by myself, and it was my first time using power tools. I decided not to use bondo. I made it similar to my Samurai Rikku sword.
