Description
So this was my first big adventure into armor making. It took a really long time but I like how it turned out...even if I can't really move much in it. XP
The costume consists of Wonderflex, Foamies, gold pvc, and lots and lots of gold paint.
-The boots were an old pair my Mom owned and I spray-painted gold and added wonderflex to for the boot armor bits. The knee piece is attached to the boot piece in order to help keep it in place. It attaches around my knee.
- The thigh pieces, upper arm pieces, and the big front piece are all made of Wonderflex.
- The glove pieces, waist piece, and the panels on top of the big piece as well as the details on the collar, are all made of Foamies.
- The waist pieces are all attached to a belt of gold pvc that attaches around my waist so I can still have at least some mobility (though its pretty limited).
- The big front piece is my pride and joy in this. It also took the longest. The base is all wonderflex (which I bent over a chair to get the shape with) and the collar bit was a separate piece I melded into the bigger piece. Then I added Foamie pieces to create the panel look the armor has as well as the desgin on the collar. It snaps to the waist piece to keep it in place.
- I cut apart the shirt and sewed it back together in sections to make it look like the armor pieces he wears under the big piece. As I knew I wouldn't be able to move at all if I actually made that as armor. And of course, you can't really see it anyways.
- The Buddhist rosary has exactly 108 beads which is the number Shaka says his rosay contains, to represent the 108 spectres that work under Hades. The beads were spray painted gold and then I lucked out in finding the perfect purple colored tassels.
