Vaati is hands-down my favorite character ever, but I kept holding off on cosplaying as him. I used professional theatre make-up, custom blended to the right shade of color - hand painted ears and detailed with shading to match make-up color. Funny how I found most of the fabrics for this costume on sale at the Red Tag sale at Joann's. All seams are finished with serger, cape is fully lined. Tunic details on the sleeve are appliqued and embroidered by hand (satin-stiched) around the border. Used real leather hide to make belt, and used resin gems backed w/ foil for hat and belt decorations. Wig was custom-dyed to achieve correct shade of color, and styled/trimmed. Sandals were custom-patterned and made so they could slip on and off without any fixture (no snaps, buckles, velcro, etc). Pants are finished with serger seam and poofed out, custom-patterned as well with flap detailing. Patterned out the cape, with overlapping assymetrical flaps in the front that snap together with a snap button, painted gold button for cape fixture.
