Speak softly and carry a big sword. Right, Irene?

Originally I wanted to make a Clare costume because Clare is HOMYGODAWESOME. But then I got to that one part with Irene and Clare... Yeah, you know the one: "HERE CLARE, TAKE THIS." Good god, WE HAVE A WINNER. Irene is made of pure win.

I remade parts of the costume between Anime Boston '08 and Otakon '08. I remade the blade, the white suit, the back piece and the cape. Refurbished the pauldrons, reglossed the other armour pieces and detangled and recut that rat's nest of a wig.

The blade's fiberglass (my SECOND time 'glassing something hurr hurr) and copious amounts of bondo and spot putty. I carved and cast the little wing-ding-doodilees on the guard and the little nubbin on the pommel. The spaulders are a new, roundabout and unnecessary construction method of a wonderflex base (formed over a positive I carved), plasti-paste, and bondo. The back piece is fiberglassed insulation foam and Bondo, with cast pieces where the cape attaches to. The plate skirt, vambraces, and sabatons are of my new love, Sintra.

I'll probably remake and streamline the sword again and definitely redo the white suit. The back piece may be redone as well, so I can stash the sword in it. I want this bastard perfect! I <3<3<3<3 Irene
